Scratch on lens

This spyglass looks great, and has a solid feed from the all-metal and glass construction; a really nice antique reproduction. The optics are simple (2 elements?), so you can expect some chromatic aberration - but it does work as an actual spotting scope. I wouldn't use it as an scope for hiking/boating/etc. since it's heavy and a little awkward to focus (extend all the way, then work your way back in with the eyepiece to focus), plus the field of view isn't as good as you get with modern optics, but it's a great showpiece for the mantle for occasional casual use.

I am very impressed with how nice this spyglass is for the price! Very solid, slides smoothly, easy to adjust focus (it seems many do not know how to use one of these and blame the sellers). It is just a nice, solid piece that looks and fees authentic. Buy without hesitation. I only wish it came with an equally good value leather case.

This ia heavy and works! My pirate son loves it!

A nice surprise. The quality was better then expected. My 16 year old nephew loved it, he is a big pirate fan.

Very attractive piece, but the one I received is worthless as a telescope. Optics are not correct. Extremely blurry, can not see anything at all when looking through it.
