A most heart-warming Winnie the Pooh story collection
A delightful collection of 5 winter-themed Winnie the Pooh stories, in hard-back, with red and gold book jacket and thick pages, designed to last, a perfect keepsake. The title mentioned "fans of all ages" so that was it, I had to order, and I'm so glad I did. In order to review a book, you have to read it of course, so I've been settling down beneath a blanket on cold winter's evenings, for what has been a most relaxing antidote to a stressful time.Jane Riordan writes in the style of the beloved A.A.Milne, which she achieves extremely well. The book is beautifully laid out with colourful illustrations resembling those of E.H.Shepherd, thoughtfully positioned into just the right places in the text, with additional miniature drawings charmingly placed around the text. Each story is exquisitely written; the added drawings simply add to the treat, and for a child will help bring the words to life. I think each story is the perfect length for bedtime, but of course they can be read at any time of day. The stories begin with everyone getting ready for winter, one about a very shy bear, Piglet losing his voice, a lovely Christmas tale and ending with a New Year's Eve party including lots of smaller characters from the woods which ties all the other stories together. There are some treasureable phrases, one of my favourites being from chapter 1, where Piglet is trying to remember if he's met Winter before, "it was a long time ago, and his brain felt as fuzzy as the backs of honeybees with all the Trying To Remember." It certainly is a heart-warming read, for anyone, of any age.

Perfect for winter bedtime story telling
A charming small hardbacked book written and illustrated in the style of the Winnie-the-Pooh books of old.The stories are well told and with a nice touch of both warmth and humour, especially when Eeyore is involved, but the illustrations really carry the book, they are so bright and work well at bringing the stories to life. This makes it a perfect bedtime story book for chilly winter evenings.Hardback books with colour illustrations are not cheap to produce so the cost of such a small book is quite high, but I feel this is reasonable value for what it offers.

Beautifully presented and entertaining story
This is a classic style book, it is a proper story with lots of text and beautifully illustrated images throughout. The language is quite complex in places and there is quite a lot of it so better for children who can read or this is also a good story for adults to read to their kids. I have been reading it to my daughter. I am also enjoying it and think if you remember reading Winnie The Pooh books as a child this is a nice reminder and a good book to read for nostalgia. It is about Winnie The Pooh and his friends all being taught about the winter season. The hard back book has a really simple but effective cover with warm feeling illustrations that sit against the cold and harsh season. This is definately a book where the story takes centre stage and the illustrations support this.I really enjoyed the story and think that this is a beautiful but classic story and a nicely presented book.

Beautiful
This is a beautifully written book truly in the style of A.A.Milne. The book itself is hardback and wrapped in inviting red and gold paper. The illustrations in the book are captivating and a beautiful accompaniment to the stories. The stories themselves truly do sound and feel like the originals and have the same humour and morals embedded within.A lovely winter read for children.
