After spending some time looking around for a simple trailer hitch, this one came along and checked all my boxes. The ability to switch between drop and rise is very handy, and the included cover is a nice touch to protect it in storage between uses. The description in the listing is that the ball is pre-torqued, but the one I received was very much just finger tight. I actually prefer it that way though, as it gave me the ability to choose which way to set it up for my needs. I do wish the language was a little clearer regarding how tight was tight enough in terms of snugging it up, as there's only a brief reference to making sure you see a certain amount of threading visible below the bottom of the nut after tightening, but nothing regarding torque or anything else that might provide additional reassurance that the user had tightened it correctly (neither over nor under). Everything is nicely finished, fits together cleanly, and lines up nicely in my hitch receiver. I'm very impressed with the product and the company seems to be dedicated to providing quality products across a range of needs, so I'm very glad to know they exist.

This seems like a solid enough 2" hitch insert and ball, rated to 7,500lbs tow weight and 750lbs tongue weight. The hitch slides easily into a 2" receiver, albeit with a bit more play than one would like. The flattened sides on the ball make it easier to tighten than the type with a round bottom flange, and the 1" shank makes for extra confidence that the hitch can support the advertised loads. The ball cover is a helpful option to reduce corrosion on the ball head, improving the likelihood of continued smooth operations and a good ground connection.Despite the advertiser's claims (quoted below), the ball did NOT come pre-torqued, so be sure you tighten everything appropriately before attempting to tow your trailer.From the Amazon page: "EASY INSTALLATION: Our 2" ball hitch for trailer comes pre-torqued and ready for use. This hitch has the same load rating at the Kurt hitches at a much better price point. Finish is good and comparable with the hitches you find at Walmart.

I got this for my van before measuring it. I think this is made well and sized right.. but my receptacle for this hitch was very rusted.. I had to do a lot of scraping and pounding to get this in.. now I'm not sure if it will ever come out. Unfortunately, my hitch receiver hangs pretty low and this didn't get it quite high enough for my liking. It also leaves only 1.5 inches of clearance between my bumper and the ball. That is fine as it is just enough clearance and height to use it for my trailer. I think I might get a trailer ball that stand a little taller so I can still use this hitch at a comfortable height. Given the price and quality, I highly recommend it.

This is all one could ask for in a decent ball mount. It fits well, is durable, and has no visible flaws. No reason to not get it.
