Pretty and Practical

This is the first time I have purchased a reusable sanitary pad, so I cannot compare to others, but I will explain some of the reasons why I like this particular pad. I ordered the large.Effectiveness at absorbing without leaks:- The large has three layers of microfiber pads and it feels like it will absorb well- The outer layer is waterproof to ensure no leakage through the material (this wears off after a while, but the thickness of the pad, and the fact that the wings are present on the other side of your undies, really help to make sure you don't leak, even if you have a very heavy flow like me)- The pad wings clip together so it is held securely in place rather than slipping around, unlike disposable pads where the sticky wings can sometimes move- The pad width is quite narrow, but this means that it fits comfortably in your underwearComfort & appearance- The pad feels really soft and smooth against your skin- Because the waterproof layer is on the outside of the pad, it does not come into contact with your skin and make you sweat- The design is absolutely beautiful and looks like the one pictured- It folds down so you can carry it easily- When folded, it is not obvious that it is a sanitary pad- Depending on the type of underwear you are wearing, the pads have a tendency to bunch (happens more with loose underwear)Ease of washing- The leaflet that comes with the pad advises against using fabric softener, perfume or powder with zeolite as it may alter the absorption, so unless you want to skip the fabric softener on your other laundry, you may need to wash it separatelySo far, I would say that this is a high quality pad that is equal to others on the market. I will update this review over time to see if this holds up well after a couple of uses. :)----------1 YEAR ON:I just wanted to update this review now that I've been using the pad for a year and have also tried others to say that I'm very still very happy with my purchase.Compared to some other pads, these feel like they are a much higher quality - from the thickness to the stitching to the fact that the pad is symmetrical when folded (some other brands don't fold down equally on both sides). After a couple of washes of any reusable pad, I find that any waterproofing on the back of the pad tends to wear off, which is where thickness really comes in handy for making sure you don't leak!My pads still look quite new and amazingly have no stains which is good. I tend to rinse them as soon as I can until the water runs clear and then stick them in the machine with my other washing (I wash with light clothes rather than dark as dark tends to stain the pretty pattern)

Two years on: still a happy customer
Decided to try these as I'm trying to reduce the amount of landfill rubbish we produce as a household. They arrived quickly with some nice information about the philosophy of the manufacturer and how best to care for them. The one drawback I can find with these is that they do ride up the back. The first day I wore them I was at a wedding wearing a very fitted dress and I kept having to pop to the loo to readjust to avoid an obvious and embarrassing bulge at the rear! I tried them with jeans the following day and they still went wandering. The following two days I put a small safety pin right at the front to pin them in place which totally did the trick (although it did make a small hole in to be fair a very old pair of knickers) and they stayed where they needed to be. Saying all that, on the positive side, although slightly thicker than regular disposable liners, they still feel discreet and comfortable, no rustling noise (which I was worried there might be). I tried them with a femmecup (a first too and worked a treat) so they didn't get much of a test in terms of leakage, but at the tail end of my period without the cup they performed fine and washed up really nicely. Definitely less smell than usual but that's probably as much to do with the cup as with the liners. The best thing for me is that its there was absolutely no waste at all! So on balance it's not a 100% perfect product but I'm happy with them. The idea is brilliant, just perhaps could be tweaked slightly to keep them in place easier?*** Two year update*** so we're two years on from my original review. Thought it worth sharing that I'm still using them monthly, they're still performing just as well and they look as good as new. Yes I'm still using the safety pin but overall I'd say it was a great investment in the environment and my wallet.

They don't breathe, leak via wings and are too thick.
I ordered Medium size what I found too big (I am size 10/12). Pads were well made and never leaked via bottom part. However, the material is not breathable. If you sit at work I do not recommend these. They are also quite thick compared with other brands. I do not recommend them for summer or when you wear tight clothes. They were not great at night as they tend to leak on the sides. They wash ok (it is recommended to not to use products with zeolite on these), but you can expect that some stains won't be removed. I am writing this review 1 year after buying. I wrote about my experience and seller kindly refunded me the full amount. For that reason leaving 2 stars.

Wish I'd tried these sooner
Gradually trying to switch from plastic disposable products to reusable/plastic free. These seemed like my best bet as I've never got on with tampons so didn't think I'd be able to use a mooncup. I was quite nervous about using them but these have exceeded my expectations.I ordered the longest ones and had no leaks at all, when i usually do using disposables during the night (I did wash them before using the first time according to the instructions). I found these much better for the skin. No more irritation yay! Although bulkier than disposables I didn't find that a problem. I thought these felt more breathable and dryer than disposables. Found them easy to wash just rinse in cold water, wring out and pop in the washing machine. Loved them so much I've ordered some smaller ones for the lighter days and a matching bag to stash them in.Like some of the other reviews the only small gripe i have is they can move about a bit with the smooth waterproof fabric. Not so much a problem with the longest ones but I can imagine it being worse with the smaller ones. Maybe some sort of non slip fabric would help? Just got to make sure you've got some fairly snug underwear to keep them in place.
