Best SD Card Reader I've Used
Yes, the rumors are true. This thing is fast. I mean, really fast. I'll have to run some Blackmagic speed tests on it to provide as evidence, but you can see it the minute you try transferring files ... this thing is so much faster than any other card reader I've ever used, including all built-in card readers. And it's not just for class II cards where you see the speed gain. I've tried it with a number of different cards, some even legacy cards, and in every case, this reader is so much faster that it makes all the other readers I've used seem like dinosaurs. It looks cool, too, with a shiny black finish and a nice shape that makes it stand out without being garish. Another really great feature this reader has--and I'm now surprised no one has ever thought of it before--is to make the bottom magnetic. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but it actually is. You can place this reader on any metal surface, including your computer itself, and it just stays in place. Brilliant idea! (And expect to see copies of the idea in other brands by next year.) It is a little more expensive than other drive readers, but for anyone who is a photographer and takes lots of photos, this device will save so much time its really quite amazing. I'm completely impressed with this product, and I'm picky! Five Stars.

This is the best of the best.
I've collected quite a number of card readers over the decades, and this has the highest throughput of anything I have used. It's so good that when the first one failed, I immediately ordered another one to replace it. The first one had been in use for about a decade, and I think that I use too much force to push a card into the slot. So I don't think the first card failed because of construction issues, but me being way too strong!

Solid card reader
Its fast, slim, and built well as expected from prograde. I use this card reader on set and the magnetic bottom is perfect for attaching to my DIT cart and keeping it secure and out of the way. I bought a second as backup to live with my camera as well.

Fast, reliable and really small.
Well engineered and FAST . It replaced another device I had that was like a brick and waaaay slower. Plus, it doesn’t overheat. The only downside, is that it stays warm even when it’s not in use.

Fast!
I use mostly for CF Express Type B card, but it is also has a UHS-II card reader as well. Both are quite fast for the types that they use. It connects with a USB-C cable. Highly recommend.

Product failed after 6 months with minimal use
Product outright failed: no mounting, no lights, completely dead. After only six months of very light usage. I suspect the manufacturer other products would have the same quality.

Being a tech nerd myself, I've decided to run some tests at the rental house to compare my new card reader to the industry standard readers they had in stock. THE SETUP: They had the good ol Lexar CR1 (the one without thunderbolt 2) and Codex cfast 2.0 reader (not sure the model of that one). The card I used was Arri certified SanDisk Cfast 2.0 128gb. I've formatted the card clean and ran tests both through usb 3.1 gen 2 cables I had for all the card readers directly into the thunderbolt ports on my mac, and with included cables every card reader came with through a Female USB-A to Male USB-C adapter from Nekteck. Used both AJA system test and Blackmagic disk speed test to measure the speed. THE RESULTS: I was very pleasantly surprised with my purchase! Comparing to both Lexar and Codex, my brand new ProGrade delivered an increase of ~70mb/s on WRITE speeds and, what matters the most to me, ~75mb/s on the READ speeds! That's 15% faster offloads providing you have drive's fast enough. I am very happy with my choice, and hoping it will keep showing such good numbers as time goes on. Also should be noted that I did not see any difference with changing out the cables, USB 3.1 gen 1 doesn't seem to provide any difference to the speed. That is until you use both Cfast and SD ports on the ProGrade reader. That's the only case scenario when USB 3.1 gen 2 will be worth it. See the screenshots and cheers!

Blisteringly fast when transferring via USB3 and even seems faster than my previous card reader when using USB2 (but I'm not sure that isn't just psychological) :-) The reader has a sturdy build quality so I don't worry about stuffing it in my camera bag to take on a shoot when needed. My CFast 2 card takes a while to appear when inserted but that may always be the case with this type of card (I don't have anything to compare against as it's my first and so far only CFast 2 card!). The magnetic base is nice touch as I can attach the reader to side of my PC tower.

Die beiden Kartentypen werden in ausreichend hoher Geschwindigkeit von diesem Leser übertragen. Schade ist nur, das diese Leser sich nicht vernünftig stapeln lassen, ohne das man eine metallplatte auf diese klebt.
