The media could not be loaded.  My pug hates swimming. But one time he accidentally fell in the pool and sunk right to the bottom. So he earned himself a puggy life vest. He’s not a big fan of it, but he tolerates it because he loves me. It gives me peace of mind when he’s outside with us in case he falls in again. The fit is good, it is a little long on him though. The fabric on the bottom was constricting his belly area at first, but once I loosened the fabric and buckle, he was fine! I’d say the color is more pink than red. I like that there is Velcro and buckles, just to give some extra security. There is a little handle on the back just in case i need to grab him out of the water quickly, and also an attachment to clip his leash. Which is helpful for dry land so that he doesn’t have to wear collar underneath the vest.

The jacket fit well, made well. But there's a huge safety issue. I put the vest on my Chihuahua X, I held the back handle/strap to let her get used to the buoyancy for several minutes. I led her around for another few minutes to allow her to 'swim' with it, but I was keeping her upright. I then put her a foot or so from the steps, let her go & she was able to swim to them. But when she got to the top one, the vest caused her to tip over, she went under a little as she tried to right herself, but for some reason the vest didn't allow her to. So for a few scary seconds she was struggling to right herself - scared us both! From there she wouldn't move with it on. Not sure if future use will help her learn the logistics of righting herself, but will keep on trying. But please, don't leave your baby unattended even for a minute with it, no way to tell if/when it will cause an issue. I'll update my review IF I find it does work after she gets more familiar with it. It is well made, good looking product.

My dog is a little unusual shape. She is a Docksin and Chihuahua mix. She’s always a little hard to fit but the Velcro on this life jacket made it easier to fit her. It’s a little large in the neck but the Velcro really helped make it a good enough fit. Really great for the price so we can paddleboard together!!

We have a 12 lb dog and ordered a small. It fits perfectly. It took her a little while to get used to it but now seems very comfortable in it. It’s strong and sturdy so we are able to pull our dog out of the water with ease. Great value for the money! I would definitely recommend this dog life jacket.

I purchased a small for my 15 lb Jack Russell. It was the correct size but the neck opening didn’t fit properly. It was necessary to move the neck buckle and Velcro so that it fit properly on her. Once I did that it fit quite well and I feel the compression around her chest and buckle on the left of her chest made her feel very secure.I lowered her onto the top step of the pool by using the handle on her back. After walking back and forth a number of times, she got out. I put her back in 3 more times and we floated around each time, then she swam to the top step and got out. But all the time she was getting use to the water.One time I called her over to the edge of the pool and asked her to come in. Unbelievably she jumped down to the top step. After jumping in two more times I knew we were making major headway.The next day she willingly jumped in 2 times and swam to me. Amazingly the frantic behavior from the day before was now gone.I never thought that she could be trained in just two days! Best purchase I ever made.

Love this. My dog is safe. He fell off his raft and the vest immediately turned him upright. He seems comfortable in it. Large Velcro piece around the body with 2 safety straps with latches and 1 to hold his head up. Excellent!!!

It's is the perfect fit! And she looked so stinking cute! We used it when we went rafting and at one point she jumped in the water and I was so thankful for that handle! She was a little startled but quickly ok once she realized we were holding on to her. Very good quality and I will recommend this for anyone who likes to take the pup along on the water!

I bought this for my senior dachshund mix who loves to go to the beach, but can’t quite swim on his own anymore. He has a long, dense body and short little legs. I used to have to bend down and support some of his weight so he could swim in the water. This jacket supports a lot of his weight and I can just hold the handle at the top, which means I can comfortably stand up without holding him up while he’s swimming, but can still control his direction. Out of the water he can still run around in the sand with the jacket on as it doesn’t interfere with his movement.
