The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Creating a Champion

A great and insightful book into the thought process and production of an amazing game. I used this book whilst writing my dissertation for a game art degree and found it very useful in understanding the developers thought processes behind aspects of the games production. A must read for anyone who loved the original nintendo game.

So after being on the hunt for this Master Works book I keep hearing on YOU TUBE in these fan theory videos I have only just realised that its actually call Creating a Champion in this part of the world, as soon as I figured that out yeah I was so having this book.I must say the first thing that caught my attention was the size and thickness of the book and knew I was loving this already (apart from being a zelda fan too obviously)This book is over 400 pages of beautifully breath taking concept art of the amazing equally breath taking Breath of the wild (I see what Nintendo did there)Not only do you get the amazing designs of the land scapes, characters, weapons, ruins, settlement, enemies (I could go on all night) printed over 400 pages of glossy (yet sturdy thick pages) you also get to see the rough designs and earlier designs before the finished product. Not only that the creators also have things to say about their designs and what they were going for, it even give you little background information on some of the areas which gives you that sense of nostalgia.I would so recommend this to any zelda fan old and new to the series it's as I say Beautiful and Breath taking, and for the low price of 22 quid you should t really pass this up.I see some reviews with lower stars but most of these are due to the condition that they have received their item, and I totally get it I wouldn't want anything as amazingly crafted as this book in any less that perfect condition.

Absolutely stunning book. Almost 500 pages worth, and very heavy. The paper is thick and excellent quality, making the images look clear and vibrant with colour.There is so much information, and background to the creation and development of many of the characters, items, and areas. You see much more of the development and artwork that went into the franchise and BOTW specifically. I’d personally say the book is worth more than I paid for it. You also get an insight into the developers thoughts with the developers “notes” regularly scattered throughout. Absolutely stunning and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a book like such for a sequel or further Zelda game in future.

We purchased this book for our 9 year old grandson for his birthday. My wife and I were greatly impressed with the quality of the artwork and we thought it well worth the money. Our grandson was also very delighted and impressed with the huge number of excellent drawings and the fabulous artwork.

After the rather confusing Hyrule Historia, the obsessive Art & Artifacts and their comprehensive Encyclopedia, Dark Horse have nothing to prove in their books about the Zelda universe: all three are lovingly produced and offer fans superb value for money. Now we get, at last, a volume that covers Breath Of The Wild and it just might be the best of the bunch.I can't imagine anyone with an interest in videogames not being enthralled with this book. Not only is the concept art beautiful and laid out (for the most part) intelligently, but we get copious notes from the developers and designers. Frankly, all the detail is (as usual) overwhelming and I'm not sure that many owners will end up reading everything or poring over the detail with the attention that it deserves. Instead, most of us will end up dipping in and reading a little at a time.Even if you already own the Expanded Edition of the Official Guide to the game it is well worth getting this as well. In the expensive world of gaming merchandise and memorabilia, this is quite a bargain and something that will last for years.

The book is gorgeous. The art is amazing. Unfortunately it arrived damaged. Not enough to have to go through return process but still annoying as it's gift for my kid.

Lovely book! I own all the Zelda books, and I just had to get this one! The art is so beautiful, and it's fascinating to read. It's a wonderful book, perfect for anybody who is interested in the Game or Animation or Concept Art. It really breaks down the process. I loved looking through it and now it has been added my Zelda collection. If you are a Zelda fan, then this is definitely something to put on your hit list!
