BK120 SmartTrace Breaker Finder and Socket Tester

Excellent, circuit tracer. The transmitter is powered by the AC, so no batteries needed. The receiver works great, is easy to use. After plugging in the transmitter, make sure you hold the receiver perpendicular to the breakers. Scan all breakers once and ignore the beeps, as it’s automatically adjusting the sensitivity on the first scan. Then scan again and you’ll get very accurate locating information. I tried a cheaper scanner first that had a very nice digital transmitter with an OLED display. It required batteries and showed voltage and wiring faults, but it completely failed at tracing circuits. I was very careful to follow the instructions exactly. I highly recommend the few extra dollars for this Fluke, it was well worth the extra $20. I bought a box for it.

A great tool for testing GFI plugs and for finding a breaker for power outlets. I wish somehow it also worked for light switches/circuits. The only drawback I found is that it is recommended that all outlets are vacant when testing.The voltage detection works very well.

Worked great (it's a Fluke!) - super useful and a bit of a lifesaver when figuring out the state of the electric sockets and lights for an old house - where the very confused power circuits resulted from many different electricians working on the house over the years. The socket tester is super easy (every household should have one) and live circuit tester saved me a few times. The breaker finder takes a little getting used to - to get results you expect - but once you figure it out, it is very predictable.

Fluke is always a trusted brand with top notch performance. Reasonably priced for an item that I probably won’t need to replace.

Works better than any other brand I’ve owned. That said. I gave it 4 stars because my Klein and Milwaukee though they don’t work as accurately as this one, they feel like they can take a drop. The fluke I was surprised to see feels pretty cheap and light in the hands. I’ve never tested it or dropped it. But I definitely keep it in a case. Maybe you can make the next model a bit more robust fluke? I actually love the size. It’s much smaller than other brands and has NCVT and a light. So a lot in a small package. But man it just feels like nothing!My biggest gripe is the plug tester transmitter. You need a whole damn duplex to test because unlike other brands that stick out straight so you can test in a confined spot and leave something plugged into the buttom or top receptacle. This one goes down so it takes up so much room. I shouldn’t have to carry a custom 1’ extension cord with me to make sure my tools works in most scenarios especially for a fluke.

I love this product fluke does a great job with everything they make and I feel like people don’t talk about this one enough it’s so nice to be able to switch from non contact voltage tester to circuit tracer. I’d say it’s definitely worth the money.

NOT SUITABLE for European market...

Doing electrical work regular this was a replacement for one that grew legs on a job site. It works better than my old one so maybe a blessing. It locates the correct breaker every time. Would buy again.
