Pokemon Card Game Collection of Illustrations JP Oversized – January 1, 2014

I collect Pokemon cards solely because I love seeing the different illustrators takes on the different characters, and the illustrations selected to be in the book have a wide variety of styles and include card art from the beginning of the card game up until Omega Ruby/ Alpha Sapphire. I personally would have preferred fewer of the digital 3D model illustrations, since those tend to lack the personality and unique artistic touch than cards with drawn or physically sculpted art, but it was great to see some of my favorite illustrations blown up so large, and to see some card artwork I hadn't seen before due to not having obtained those particular cards.The book also came with the trading cards advertised, which are very cute, and it also includes interviews with Kagemaru Himeno, Ken Sugimori, Junichi Masuda, and Mitsuhiro Arita, and two illustrations are shown in various stages of completion. I can't read much Japanese, but I especially enjoyed getting to see the pictures of Tomokazu Komiya's illustration process, as he probably my favorite illustrator who works on the card game and the images showed how he paints his illustrations in watercolor on a relatively small canvas.

I have the English version of this book and wanted to get the Japanese one as well when I found out it had promos with it. I saw it was a bit pricier here than elsewhere but assumed it had the cards too. But to my surprise, they were removed.Do NOT buy. Can buy elsewhere for half price with disclosure that cards are removed.

An excellent book with excellent design and large prints of the TGC illustrations I loved as a kid! A cool and inspiring work with tons of detail put into its presentation.

I am extremely happy with this purchase, not only because I'm a collector, but a longtime fan of Pokemon as well. Great product, pristine condition, fast delivery, everything to perfection.

Great book. I wish it had more full page pictures tho. But it did come with a couple special edition Japanese pokemon cards

First off, if the cover doesn't make it apparent right off the bat: This book is in Japanese. I bought it knowing that, so I had no problem with it but that's a heads up anyone who might not have realized. The book itself is pretty nice. It features a nice range of illustrations from Pokemon cards. I do wish some of the illustrations were bigger but none of them feel too small, which is definitely a plus. Since the text is in Japanese, I'm unable to distinguish if there's any sort of organization in the order the illustrations appear in(on one page Metagross, Mr. Mime and Luxray have illustrations that are all clearly drawn by different artists). Additionally, there are a few (though not many thankfully) sections where the text is the main focus. Overall though, the book's pretty great.

ポケモンカードのイラストを見るために ポケモンカードオフィシャルブック (2000) と一緒に購入しました。こちらの製品はオフィシャルブックに比べて新しいカードがほとんどを占めているので表紙の絵のようなダイナミックなイラストが多いイメージです。しかし、ポケモンカード独特のほんわかした感じのイラストもまた載っていていろいろな絵が楽しめます。知らないポケモンの絵でも純粋に楽しめる本です。しかし昔のポケモンの絵を見たい人はオフィシャルブックのほうを買ったほうがいいでしょう。 ポケモンカードオフィシャルブック (2000)

リアルな世界を作り出すカードゲームですが、ＷＥＢ花盛りの時代だからこそ価値があると感じました。

手に入れたことないカードのイラストとかも見られてそれでも十分満足！

昔のは少な目でした。海外版限定のが見られたのはよかったです。

大好きなポケモンの生き生きした姿が沢山掲載されており、小学生の子供が大満足していました。イラストが出来るまでの工程も紹介されており興味深々でした。
