Very comprehensive guide. Photos are not always fantastic, but there's a lot of info in the text. It's a detailed useful guidebook, and very useful for that, rather than a glossy coffee table book.

Inspired me to go and see
Very nice book, a bit heavy on the writing as it is in very small print but full of information and easy to read. Would have liked larger pictures and a little more info on where the garden is, a small map at the start of each chapter would have been helpful. If the print and pictures were larger I would have given it 5 **

Good guide to Italian gardens
This large format book contains details of around 125 gardens throughout Italy, by region, with a one page, or double page entry, according to interest or importance. Realistic, rather than 'art' photographs, and the book is good value for what it does. There is a good index and bibliography. I would recommend.

Comprehensive survey.
This is a comprehensive book, great as an overview, but a bit dated now. The basic visitor information is useful to some extent but obviously there is more up to date and reliable info on the relevant web sites.

Disappointing book.
Very small print, information (opening times, address etc) is not with the write-up, it's under a separate section. Pretty useless really! Not impressed with the book, rather disappointed!
