Hacked it to work with an AC adapter
I needed a large star to put on top of a pole above our lighted display I the front yard. The size of this star seemed perfect. I needed to run a long wire down the pole and plug in to the 110v timer that operates the rest of the lights. The problem is that the cross is battery powered. I read a review where someone tried connecting an AC battery adapter into the battery compartment. The problem is that when powered up, the cross would be in the off mode rather than the last mode it was on. So having a timer turn it on would still require manually turning the cross on with the remote. That defeats the purpose of having it on a timer. The solution - Measuring the voltage from the battery pack to the LEDs, I found it was 3 volts AC when set at the constant on mode. Other effects had different currents, because half of the LEDs are polarized one direction and the other half polarized the other direction. I cut the battery unit off and connected the wire from the star to a 3vdc adapter. Sure enough, half of the LEDs lit up. I reversed the polarity and the other half lit up. So I found a used 3v AC output plug-in transformer online that is for a waterpik toothbrush. I spliced a long wire to the wires leading to the star. I spliced the other end to the 3vAC adapter, and plugged that into the timer. When the timer turns on, all of the LEDs on the star are constantly on at full brightness, which is exactly what I wanted. Needless to say, everything is plugged Ito a GFCI outlet for safety.I'm just telling you what I did to make it do what I wanted. Any modifications that you make to electrical devices are at your own risk.

Christmas house topper
The media could not be loaded. Easy to put together, my wife figured it out before even bringing it to me. It was one of the few large stars that I could find and I think it fits the size of the house just fine. Ours came working properly, and I like that it has various modes. I only wish it had a Built-in timer. It is pretty bright and I think a great addition to our lights. We hung it up inside the front upstairs window and I appreciate the sticky hook that came with it. Build quality is not stellar but also just fine and in sure as heck not gonna go make one myself so I’d say it was well worth the 20 bucks. Just add a built in timer please.
