Convenient for camping and works very well.
I am going to lead off by saying that the 20 foot area of protection is probably closer to a 15 foot area, which is the only reason I took off one star. That being said I really like this mosquito repellent device. It is rechargeable and very light weight so it is easy to carry for hiking and camping. The design is very functional and it fits just about anywhere with a clear 2inches of space. It also has a small lanyard type handle to hang it up. The repellent cartridges are super simple to install and the device basically works with the push of a button. It does last 6 hours per cartridge as stated in the description. We set it up on a picnic table and when sitting at the table we were not bothered by mosquitoes. When moving away from the table they would return a few feet away. My wife and I also used it in our tent so that we could keep the door unzipped until the cooler night air made it more comfortable to sleep. We zipped the tent, shut off the mosquito repellent and slept bug free. It was awesome.I do wish it covered the full 20 feet promised, but it still exceeded my expectations. I won’t be sleeping in a tent again without one of these to keep the annoying little vampires away. Two unbitten thumbs up.

Actually works
There are a lot of repellant products out there that we have tried but I have been underwhelmed by them. This device has lasted a while and continues to work well. For full transparency we use it on our back porch and keep it on a table in between us where we hang out by the pool. This isn’t going to protect your whole yard but it definitely works in smaller spaces to keep mosquitoes away. So far it is durable, has a decent battery life and is less expensive than others on the market. I haven’t had any issue with it bother our pup so it seems to be safe around pets.

Can't really tell if it is working
OK, I ordered this out of curiosity. It's a bit pricey at almost $30 as of this review, but it might be worth it if it works. My lawn company offers mosquito control, but it costs two or three times the price of the Mosquito Repellent machine every month - and do I really want all those chemicals sprayed at my house.\Since ordering, I've had really bad luck with anything USB that requires any real power. A mini balloon pump about the size of the Mosquito Repellent machine gave a few puffs and quit exhausted while claiming to blow up a dozen air mattresses! A little vacuum for your keyboard puffed weakly for a few weeks and then never cranked up again. So if I had read the specs on this machine I probably wouldn't have bought it simply because it fits that type of USB machine profile. But bought it I did. I've charged it, I dutifully loaded a mosquito mat,...and nothing. Back to read the instructions (thank yo for including instructions!) and see I needed to hold down the power button for a second or two to turn it on. There are 3 white lights and 1 blue light on the bottom, so it's apparently on. The diffuser is warming up, so it thinks it is repelling mosquitos. But is it? I realy can't tell because they are not bad yet!!All I want to do is sit on the porch and rock a bit in the evening. I'm giving the repeller 4 stars out of my inability to test it for mosquito repelling, and I will come back and downgrade or upgrade it when the mosquites invade probably in June!If it works, I have no idea how to buy an additional supply of mats. Nothing is mentioned on the Amazon page, and a search reveals mats for other similar devices but it is unclear if any of these would work with the Mosquito Repellent machine. It does come with 10 mats. Perhaps that is the life expectancy of the machine? I hope not! I'll be back in the summer to provide an update, right after I find me a lot of mosquitos (who really love me!).

Didn't repell any mosquitos
I thought this would be a good cheap alternative to the Thermacell mosquito repellent that requires fuel cartridges. I just don't like buying things that require disposable fuel cells. This mosquito repellent uses the same style pads as the Thermacells use but also uses a rechargeable battery to heat up the pads instead of fuel. I fully charged this unit, set it up and turned it on. The indicator lights came on and it appeared to be working. You could just barely feel the heat from the element that was supposed to heat up the repellent pad. The mosquitoes were really bad the other night so I had high hopes for this. I had it on for a very long time and I don't think it repelled one mosquito. I thought maybe I was using it wrong but I wasn't. I pulled out our Thermacell and set that up. After a good 20mins the mosquitoes started to disapate. The Thermacell unit generates a lot more heat which is probably the reason it works so much better. Overall, I'm disappointed with this unit and wouldn't recommend it.
