For the price, this kit seems to rival the more expensive ones that I have looked at. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow, plus the cutouts come pre-cut on thick paper. Using this hardware kit and buying your own lumber can save you hundreds of dollars on the Murphy bed overall!

Sent back as it looked very complicated and with no kit you would need to cut out many many pieces of wood yourself.

This Murphy bed was priced competitively and arrived complete and as expected. It also arrived earlier than expected! Costumer service was good and helpful.

The parts are there. They work and seem to be of decent quality. If you want a Murphy bed at a good value you're pretty much going to have to do it yourself. However, this is not a beginner project. Not by a long shot. If you are patient and have persistence and want to watch a lot of Youtube you can probably figure it out. But there is a lot to it and a lot riding on it (a heavy piece of furniture hanging off your wall). This will push you in the right direction but you'll have to do a lot of learning to take this project home. Keep that in mind and buy it if you're ready!

I have emailed them to ask questions as they stated to do so in the manual. I haven't heard back and it is going on a week since I reached out. The manual does not give specifics on lumber material or a good reference cutting guide.

As the grandkids have gotten older, they’ve had to be separated into two rooms. That means the guest room is no longer available. Since the other set of grandparents live about twelve hours away, there needs to be a place for them when they visit. So the basement office was then selected for that task. We didn’t want to give up the office space, while at the same time wanting to have a place for a bed. A Murphy Bed is the solution! We priced fully constructed Murphy beds and wow— they are cost prohibitive for us. Because we already have DIY skills for working with lumber and hardware, this set is a fantastic answer. The hardware is well machined and sturdy, and the mechanics of the unit work smoothly. The instructions are easy to follow and specific about what additional lumber is needed to complete the project. When not in use (which is most of the time), it folds up and out of the way. A desk or other furniture can be placed in front of it. Even at the current price of lumber, this option is a fraction of the cost of buying a ready-made Murphy bed.
