Ok but design flaw
Finally died and I was glad. The thing burned through batteries because no on/off switch. I kept in cabinet and if something nudged it, it would turn on, causing batteries to wear. Bye bye.

I was VERY disappointed for a few reasons
I bake a lot and also cook healthy food, hence this gets a lot of use. I was VERY disappointed for a few reasons.1. It's impossible to read if you use anything other than a tiny plate on top.2. The tare and measurement adjustment "buttons" take a good thwack to make them work. Sometimes they change, sometimes they don't. It's very very frustrating.3. Putting down something heavy next to this scale on the counter sometimes make the tare button go on it's own, messing up my measurements.4. The light takes FOREVER to shut off and wastes batteries.Overall, the measurement is accurate, but if you plan on using it a lot I'd spring for one of the nicer models from another company. I'll be buying a new one sometime soon. :(

I love the size
I love the size, weight, and accuracy. It is so touchy it is a little frustrating, but that's probably what makes it as accurate and precise as it is. The display can be a little hard to read, but it isn't a deal breaker. I also don't like how the display light is slightly visible through the top surface away from the display, but again that is a fairly petty complaint.

No, it's not pining for the fiords. It's dead.
I never actually got to use the "Chef's Essentials" scale. I bought it, set it up, made sure the buttons lit up, and let it be. When I got back to it a week or two later it had passed on. This scale was no more. It had ceased to be. It had expired and gone to meet its maker. This was a late kitchen scale. It was a stiff. Bereft of life, it rested in peace.... But I digress. I couldn't get it to light up or to do anything at all, discarded it, and went to Bed Bath and Beyond and got a nicer-looking Cuisinart that, so far, works. That's what I get for buying a no-name no-see scale, no matter how many stars or rave Amazon reviews.

An EXCELLENT scale
I was hesitant to purchase this because I already had one that I didn't like and thought that perhaps all of them were somehow deficient. This one is NOT deficient in any way. The Tare function works so very well that weighing things is really a piece of cake and the top is level and smooth so that you can place things on it easily. You can also accurately weigh mail if you're wondering about how many stamps you might need!

One of the worst procuts I have ever bought.
I have a huge regret for getting this kitchen scale. The best problem are the buttons, I don't know where I have to press because apparently the buttons are not well located and the machine don't detect easy when you press the buttons. For my unlucky destiny I bought 2 kitchen scales, and I'm in a coutry where I can deliver it back because it's so expensive to do it, more than the 2 machines, it is my worst shopping experience ever.

Good scale
Easy to use & read. I do have a little bit of trouble from time to time using the tare function, but overall a good kitchen scale.
