Classic and Contemporary Christmas Cakes Hardcover – 15 Sept. 2000

The Christmas cake decorating ideas in this book are stunning and I'm planning to try some of them this year to give cakes as presents. They are so much more individual than anything that is on offer in the shops at Christmas time and as most of the decorations can be done in advance it should not add too much extra work to the Christmas jobs list, and will certainly be more enjoyable.

I am disappointed with this book as none of the designs have the WOW factor.Maybe I am just too critical, but none of the designs made me long to make them. But I didn't pay full price for the book so nothing lost there.

Got this as I was in need of inspiration for 10 different Christmas cake I needed to make, lovely designs easy to follow, lots of inspiration

Excellent

This book is OK and probably very good when it came out. It just feels a little dated now and there were only maybe one or two designs that I'd even consider following. If you want to do some run-outs (is that the right term???) then there are some interesting templates. Personally I'm looking for a replacement book, but it's always nice to have any book to browse through and take inspiration from so this won't be heading to the charity shop!
