The Lure of White Oak Lake Paperback – 6 Mar. 2013

I first bought and read this book over 3 years ago (before I set out on my quest to review all the lesfic I read!). I've just skip re-read it now and remember why I loved it - it's got some of those oldie but goodie characters that Ms Alexander writes so well, some beautiful family relationships, a really sweet romance and buckets of Cajun charm. Even Jaclyn's toxic mother doesn't dampen the spirits. Hard to believe that a Brit like me can almost find herself wanting to finish off sentences with a "y'all" on the end!If you're new to Robin Alexander this is as good a place as any to start. Go on, give it a try! This one is definitely on my top 10 list of Ms Alexander's books!

As usual Robin Alexander has written a hugely entertaining and often laugh out loud funny tale of people in Louisiana.The usual suspects are present and correct - the young women who are looking for true love, and the old folk who can't help meddling in their lives and are both loveable and hysterical.While the romance moved at lightning speed, when you meet "the one", then it is obvious that is where you belong, and the romance between the two leading ladies, Jaclyn and Morgan, is so well described it is all completely understandable.I can't wait to read book two and see what the ancient stoner and her cohorts get up to!

This is the most enjoyable book I have read in years. I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud reading a novel let alone laugh until I was crying - this book did this for me. Along side a lovely gentle love story emerged.So well written such great characters thank you Ms Alexander for writing this book.If you want laugh to you cry and enjoy a beautifully written love story all entwined together you must buy this book.

I loved this book. Found myself laughing out loud and read it all the way through with a smile on my face. Fabulous.

I just love this author. If I want a relaxed, easy bit of southern comfort, I choose one of Ms Alexander's books. True to form, this one was a joy to read. The characters are warm and often hysterically funny. You get to know and love them from their first introduction. The storyline is a gentle hug that warms like a fire on a cold day. Can't wait to read the sequal.

Great story great characters

This was another great story , I loved the characters who were hilarious! I could just picture the 3 older ladies sitting around creating potions and casting spells ! Absolutely brilliant .

Robin Alexander has a great strength in being able to draw rounded and totally believable characters that fill her books with memorable conversations and funny moments. Some spicy bits and some touching bits; a thoroughly enjoyable read.
