Great steel at a great price!
All of my targets are from Shooting steel 7. They have the best prices that I have seen anywhere. This 16" gong looks like it is made very well and I can't wait for the weather to get better to go and try it out.

Great target
This is a high quality steel target. Perfect for me as an air rifle target at 20 yards. Price is right.

Backyard range...
I leave it up all year so I can just shoot when I feel like it. I spray the plate, hardware and chains with silicone or WD-40 so it doesn't rust from being outside all the time. I keep a shovel out there for the snow in winter. More fun to shoot than paper targets, you can see and hear the impact of a hit. I still use paper targets to sight in a scope though. These gong targets are the best I've had and come in many sizes. Make sure you mount them correctly. It is easy to do.

Beats paper any day
Seriously recommend if you’re looking to start shooting at home / anywhere really and are beginning to set up your own targets. Paper is great but nothing beats that ping of steel and its more reaffirming when working on accuracy and putting bullets downrange. I’d recommend to any regular shooter or anyone looking to set up their own outdoor range in an appropriate area

Works great with a 9mm to a 50 AE and rifle calibers
Works great you can hear the ping from over 200 yards when I shoot my neighbors can hear it lol great target for all calibers from a 22. To 9mm all the way up to my 50 AE to a 223. I’ve even tryed 300 H&H and a 32 Winchester special 7.62x39 280 270 243 I’ve tryed almost every caliber on it just a few small dents

Perfect
Doesn't get any better than this. I love this plate it hasn't pitted on me yet at 10 yards with 9mm I have put about 300 rounds into it. The sound it makes when hitting it is so satisfying.

These are probably the best value you will find. Highly recommended.
Great quality! It is unpainted which saves costs. The target was cleaned up so there were no burrs or scratches on the target. As far as sound, I use electronic ears so I can hear the ring very well. My shooting partner was using foam ears and had trouble hearing it. The gong swung a good foot backward when hit and takes a few second to settle down.I have seen pictures on the internet where shooters used huge chains to hang the target. That may help reduce the swinging a bit. I used the bolt-nuts-washer technique and used #36 bank line to hang the target. The angle of the hanging target prevents ant spalling from hitting and damaging or cutting the bank line. I shot it one time and it did come loose. Though I had trashed the bank line. Nope, hit the carriage bolt and broke the cap off the bolt. The bolts used were not grade 8, just standard old carriage bolts from the hardware store. If I were shooting distance where errant shots are more likely, I would still use the bank line.We were shooting this at 125 yards with .223 FMJ and it did not damage the gong except when we hit the very edge of the target on two sides. This normal for steel targets Now ALL AR500 targets should be hit by bullets below 3,000 fps, though many advertise 2,800 is okay.I came back here to order another steel target (8") so I thought I would go ahead and give my review.MOTE: I used steel pipes to build my stand. It break into 5 sections (but used 12 pieces total) for moving. It makes a bundle the size of a camping chair. Making another stand using furniture steel pipe fittings. You have to order those, they do not have them at ANY hardware store. Got four 3-way fittings for $11 delivered here on Amazon!
