These will put a mirror finish on your blade edge. Will fit the KO model as well.
These fine grit belts will put a chrome shine on the knife blade edge. I actually have the Ken Onion model which uses the 3/4" belts but this is the same belt supplied with it. Apparently they only make this belt in the 1/2" size. Grab yourself some extras because they appear to wear rather quickly. If you really want a polished razor edge on your knives, you need to use these in your belt arsenal. If my review was helpful to you, please click the yes button below! :-)

An extreemly sharp buy !
I bought this off of Amazon more than five years ago. Worked great for 2 years and then I started to hear bearing noise with a wobble. Called the factory number included in the instruction booklet. They quickly sent me a brand new Sharpener at no charge ! I'm a knifemaker and find this tool indispensable for so many chores. One of my very best buys !

Sincere update from my past review.
First of all I want to publicly express my apology to DAREX Inc. the maker of the Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener for bath mouthing them in a previous review. While sharpening a pocket knife, the machine seized and smoked. I contacted DAREX Inc. with the intention of purchasing a replacement motor. Unfortunately some parts are not available for replacement such as the motor. I was disappointed but Heather told me that she would talk to her supervisor to see what she can do. I thought she was giving me the run around. The following day I received an e-mail from Taffy, Heather's supervisor and the executive assistant to Mr. big. I felt Taffy was shifting the blame on me and implying that I abused the machine, so I became somewhat rude. Taffy told me to send the machine to DAREX Inc. for an evaluation but I was still angry and wasn't co-operative with her. A couple of days later, Taffy send me a printable UPS label for me to send it back at DAREX Inc. expense. So reluctantly I did not expecting anything in my favor. Boy was I wrong and surprised when I received an e-mail from Taffy telling me that the machine was evaluated by one of DAREX Inc. engineer and determined that it was a quality control issue and that they were going to replace the Work Sharp free of charge. All in all, the warranty was honored without ay hesitation on DAREX Inc. part. It's not only a good machine but an excellent must have product. I take back everything I said in my previous review, not because I received a replacement, but because of DAREX Inc. honest integrity. DAREX Inc. reputation was on the line and the superseded it. My advice to all of you. Buy the Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener. you won't regret it. Taffy, IF you read this review, I apologize and once again, thank you kindly for everything you did to have a satisfied customer, ME. P.S. IF I could rate DAREX Inc. with 10 star review I would.

I'm a believer now!
I have been THE knife sharpener of the family. Whenever we would go hunting, I'd always hone up everyone's knives, and anyone else that I noticed needed a sharpening. I've used Lansky systems (love them), and about every kind of sharpening stones available. My choice for hunting and fishing knives has always been my Lansky. However, a fishing guide buddy told me about this - he has to sharpen his knives every night or he'd not be able to do his job. So, I invested and did the kitchen knives, not wanting to waste my Lansky edges on my "good" knives. Man, I can not tell you how easy it is to get a really good, sharp edge on a knife. I finally gave in and tried my fishing knives when I went out and had a good catch, needing to fillet and package up the fish. I used this Work Sharp on my fishing knives and I could not believe how sharp they were, how good the edge lasted, and (the kicker) how easy it was to get them this way. A couple of minutes per knife and voila'. I'm a believer, going to order one for each of my sons soon!

Excellent for ceramic knives
I don't know how long they will last, but I can say with certainty that this was a good buy. I have 5 ceramic kitchen knives that I love, but they have gotten worn, and two of them chipped. I heard these belts would work for ceramic knives...and they do...well. Chips gone, edges glistening and sharp. Very little work once I figured out how long to put them through each side. This is a great addition to an already great sharpener.

Belt Maintenance Tips------THE REST OF THE STORY !!!!!!!
Simply love this sharpening system. The belts last a long time but to get their TOP efficiency here is a tip I have discovered. You will find belts over time become dark and on the finer belt, the surface becomes glossy. As with any belt, particles(metal)become embedded in the grit. To clean the medium and course belt, hold it between your thumb and fingers and wipe a square pencil eraser back and forth across the exposed belt surface. Rotate to the next portion of the belt until you have cleaned the whole thing. To clean the fine belt(purple), I use a white towel and rubbing alcohol. The fine belt will turn from dark to purple again.Remember-------------Green/red belts use eraser. Fine belt(purple)-------------alcoholFor best results clean belts often,it only takes a second and really makes them last, while quickly getting those knives razor sharp. Also I sharpen all knives the FIRST time beginning with the course belt. Count the strokes as you sharpen one side until you feel the blade begin to roll. finish the same number of strokes on the other side and then alternate strokes on the next finer grits. Almost all stainless steel today is anywhere from medium to very hard. The course belt will help to establish the bevel angle much quicker than the medium belt and will not remove excessive blade material. When your sharpened knives get dull, you can usually skip using the green belt and re establish the bevel with the medium beltHave fun-----------this tool is simply the best out there!!!!

Easy to set up and use
This is effectively a mini belt grinder with plastic guides to help hold the knife/tool at the right angle. Works great but be sure to wear eye protection as it can shower hot sparks! It has a 2 pin plug so needs an adapter for UK 3 pin sockets.Very easy to install or change grinding belt.
