Great little book!
This intro to clicker training gets right to the "meat' of the necessary information r needed to understand CT for a beginner. The reader does not get bogged down in a lot of scientific terminology or lengthy details. Although there are no photos, the links to videos on YouTube to actually see the process that the author is describing makes this book well worth purchasing for someone starting out in clicker training.

Another great book by Hertha
Another great book by Hertha. One that novices and experienced clicker trainers, alike, will benefit from reading. A must for your bookshelf, whether it is an electronic one or a real 3-d one!

Not as expected
Whilst there are snippets of information and bits of training advice, the book constantly refers to other books written by the author or video clips that ‘explains it in more detail’; which isn’t what I was hoping or expecting for from a book about training. This constant referring to other material means that I’ve put the book down and looked to other sources to help with the training. As a series of books I’m sure they would be great but not what I was expecting and not for me.

Highly Recommended!
I'm curious about all methods of communicating with horses and am interested in Clicker Training with Horses as I've seen it work well with dogs. Hertha's book starts at the very beginning of the training, answering all those nagging questions/doubts in a down to earth honest manner. The book is simple to read and follow from the basics right through to 'thin-slicing' quite complex tasks for optimum chance of success. The text is backed up by hours of YouTube videos (all links in text) DVDs and additional notes available from the author. A brilliant start for anyone who wants to get it right from the beginning.

Excellent Introduction to Clicker Training
This little book is a great "how to" introduction to clicker training without delving into too much scientific data and terminology . The links to the youtube videos add a clear visual to what the author is presenting. The book also makes it clear that clicker training is not quick fix for equine behaviour problems and that learning is a messy business( love that term!) but clicker trainer allows us to "shape the learning process so that the horse can continually be successful" It is clear that the author has spent some considerable time in her "laboratory"experimenting with both horse and human students. I would recommend this book to both beginners and those who have been using CT for some time.
