As a older adult near 70 it was a lot of fun to put together. At times my fingers didn't work all that well. Had to use a very small screwdriver and a needle nose pliers to help me out a bit to hold pieces in the right place. There were pieces that were very small and could break very easily so caution is needed here. They do give a scan code to help you out at some point. I tried to use it once, but it didn't work for me. I'm sure I did something wrong here.It did take me a few days to put it together as I didn't work on it everyday. They do give you some spare parts that they feel that may break. You will break something at some point so use caution. My train came out great and it runs on the floor. My family love it especially the grandkids. Will be buying more, just don't know which one at this point. This would make a great gift for anyone.

This is a wonderful puzzle and makes for a very nice looking item for your mantle/display case. The laser cut sheets are generally easy to work with but sometimes the fit is tight when assembling the parts (note: this is all friction fit - no glue used). When this is the case, take a little care not to break a part (although it does come with quite a selection of spare parts - just in case). It's fun to wind up and roll around, especially fascinating for the grandkids as they can see the inner workings in motion. Assembly was fairly easy - just follow the directions and take your time. One word of warning though - try to get the gear assemblies as straight as possible - a little wobble won't hurt but there is not a great deal of clearance on some of them. Originally bought this as a present for an Uncle but on receiving the kit it looked like so much fun that it became a kit for ME (he'll get his later). Very much worth purchasing.

This was such an awesome model to build. It does take some time to put together—and my son struggled with a few steps. Be forewarned that if something is incorrectly assembled, it can be difficult to pull back apart. We did have one part that never really lined up correctly...like the holes were just out of sync, so the front piston keeps falling off...but for a shelf piece it is perfect.

My husband loves trains and puzzles. This was a great gift idea until we opened it. The wood is thin layers glued together... and not glued well. A whole sheet of pieces was basically worthless because the layers of wood were no longer stuck together. Sadly we started building after my return window closed.UPDATE: I was able to get a hold of Customer Service. They promptly responded and sent replaces pieces. They came from China and took over a month to get here, but were the exact replaces pieces we needed.

this was a gift to a friend who says he had a ball putting it together and claims it was the most thoughtful gift we could have given him. really made me happy to see the pleasure he took in this gift

This was an enjoyable model/puzzle. I say puzzle because in some ways it went together like one. I did not require glue, I could see some cases where it could be used in the future if I actually play with it. Instructions were excellent, I did not require the links to online video help. There were a few occasions where I wished for the hands of a child while keeping my adult strength. All around though, I really enjoyed this Christmas gift.

Loved it. Well made, detailed, a pleasure to assemble. Gave to brother who recently retired from railroad...he loved it also. Purchase paraffin wax before assembling. Wax every delicate connection along with what the instructions tells you to wax. Will definitely purchase more ROKR models.

It is challenging , interesting and keeps u busy trying to see the finish product, the details are amazing and very neat,My husband loved it

It was challenging enough without being overwhelming despite so many tiny pieces. He likes that it was mobile & you could see the gears working
