Zatarain's Bourbon Chicken Flavored Rice, 8 oz

First time trying this rice and I was very pleased with the results. It isn't overly spicy, and is quite flavorful. I butterflied one large chicken brease, and then cut into strips, then squares. I added a bit of chicken seasoning, like 1/2tsp when cooking in butter oil to put a little color on the meat. Once that was done, I added the 2-1/4 cups water to deglaze the pan, the rice and seasoning mixture, and then brought it to a boil. Once that's done, you simmer for about 25 minutes covered. Super easy, a cutting board, a knife, a spoon, and a pot to cook in, and you're eating dinner. I ended up buying bulk pack of these today right before writing this review, as I could see having this every week or two. I'm picky when it comes to food, and I was pretty surprised how much I liked this, especially for how easy it is to make.

This item was good, but it was too spicy for me. It had great flavor, great texture i highly recommend purchasing this item if you like a little spice 😋

It was missing flavor so I added some stuff, all of which I can't remember. I look for mixes that make a meal with rice. It's a cheap meal. I like boullion cubes so I probably added a chicken boullion cube and a little brown sugar. If there is something that isn't outstanding, I'll use it as a breakfast bowl and put a fried egg on top.

No one would confuse this Zatarain bourbon chicken rice for something healthy, but then again, it is a New Orleans-style side dish, a cuisine not known for its light fare. The rice is salty, a little sweet, and mildly spicy. It’s easy to cook on the stove, but it also works in my Ninja Foodi multi-cooker when I’m preparing a full dinner inside. (It goes on the bottom layer.). The rice always turns out well with tons of flavor.

Delicious and too much salt. It doesn't taste salty, but the nutrition information says it does contain too much salt. Five servings in the box. I used to eat the entire box at once with a pound of chicken. Congestive heart failure and nearing kidney failure is not good.
