Scottish DesignerMen ' s Hybrid Utility Kilt Black & Irish Tartan

I just want to say that this is nearly a GREAT kilt. The combination of the sport kilt style (like a Utilikilt) with the traditional tartan inside pleats is great. The material is a bit light wight (both the twill body and the acrylic tartan inserts) but should hold up long-term. That lighter weight is better in warmer climates where - well - it can get a bit warm under most kilts.The not-so-great is the sewing of the tartan inserts to the twill fabric is that the thread (or whatever) is a bit coarse and "poke" - so it's can be a bit scratchy against your skin. I've worn it once and just washed it so this may be all that is needed; not sure yet.And there are no tags beyond the size tag - so the type of fabric is unknown, care instructions are unknown. After a wash (cool water), the pleats are not as well formed and so you will have to iron or press the pleats again.You've got a few decent snaps and the side buckles/belts to adjust the fit. And there are the belt loops for wearing a belt. There are also some extra hooks all the way around for carrying a sporran, hooking keys, using suspenders, whatever.One other thing - the aprons (inner & outer) are a bit narrow so it could be a bit "flashy" to wear, if you're not careful. You'll probably want to invest in a kilt pin to keep those apron sections together - unless you're looking to flash anybody in the near vicinity.

My absolute most favorite Kilt super comfortable lots of pockets and hooks the only thing I didn't like about it is the fact that it kept popping itself full of holes

It is nice and heavy duty. It is a little wrinkly out of the package, but it fits great and I love it. It was delivered sooner than expected.

My kilt fit exactly as advertised. Middle snap fit my actual belly button circumference perfectly.Not mentioned in the description: There are adjustment snaps! Total of 3 positions per side. What also isn't obvious since they don't do a pic from both sides is that there are 4 straps on this kilt, not the normal 2. The two on the left actually thread through finished holes in the fabric and snap on that side too.Definitely needs to be ironed before wear, and picks up lint like any other knit fabric (very quickly).I just opened it and only wore it for a few minutes, but I will update this after I have an evening out!**Update: I love the fit and feel of this kilt. But: I will not be adding a star for a completely different reason. The kilt arrived rather wrinkled. Now, this I don't care about at all. The utter lack of labels or care instructions is horrible and unacceptable. I looked on the product page and their web site and nothing. That is unacceptable.Tip! Iron on a table on a blanket or towels to lie the garment flat, or if you are lucky like myself, on two ironing boards. Iron on low with a bit of spritz from the sprayer (not steam) and you can force the pleats to behave rather quickly. All folds are in the black fabric, the plaid is just a flat strip.

I haven't actually worn this myself, but my neighbor Mark borrowed it and one undeniable fact has me assuming that this is a nice, comfortable, and functional kilt - my goldfish are still alive. You see, Mark lives right behind me. And he borrowed this kilt a year ago and then returned it way way later. I can ONLY assume that he not only loved it as he continued to wear it nightly, twirling around in front of his south-facing, uncurtained, kitchen window, enjoying the freedom and jubilation this kilt offered while delaying it's return as long as possible. And then when he did return it, it wasn't coupled with the mysterious and coincidental death of the golden occupants of my front-yard pond, which he most certainly would have facilitated if he were unhappy with it. So long story short, this seems like a decent kilt.

So I wear 30 sized blue jeans, and I ordered 32 size red tartan kilt, it fits amazing! I'm sure that a 32 sized kilt would fit people who wear blue jeans in 30-32, I mean you can adjust the sizing of the kilt with the snaps it has. I'm very happy with my purchase!!! Best kilt ever! The trick is to measure your belly by the bellybutton, that's where you know what size to get, do not measure your regular waist, or jeans!!! it's by the bellybutton.

I bought this for my sons birthday, he tried them on and there is as tear in the seam. Unfortunately since it was a gift, the return window is now closed.
