There are many exact duplicates same company selling for me. buy this one but don't go for the other sellers as their shipping is sky high so don't be fooled - I almost bought it that way.review:VGBA act (Virginia Gram Baker Act) law says that they now must be round not flat so don't bother trying to find a replacement for your old pool drain like I did. Next, this retrofit will work for screw holes as small of 5&1/8 to 7&7/8ths because it's a slot (6 to chose from)My 2 screw holes are exactly from center to center 6&11/16 apart. Outside cover diameter was 7&3/8ths for old cover.picture looks BLACK but is white. see 2nd picture in very tiny letters after concrete is wht which is white. Note they do make them for different pool types so make sure yours is concrete before buying. *** turn off your pool pump first so you don't die. I did not and despite two drains you can feel a pull so don't try it. Basically you attach the black inside retro part which has a slot (hence works up to 10" diameter filter cover but the holes are NOT at 10", the slot is as I described before so measure from center to center of your screw holes. One reviewer said his holes were at 7&3/4ths which had to work at an angle to work - 7/3/8ths end of slot is less than 7&3/4ths). After the black part is in you cover the 6 slots up (legal purposes) then attach top white part 3 holes only which are NOT equal-distant. It's an Isosceles triangle so I put a permanent dot on sides to help me and notch black part so I don't have to keep trying under-water. I found another link same exact specs showing the only picture on the internet where the slot size can actually be seen clearly. good luck be careful! [...]

This cover was recommended by the pool builder as the only one that can be installed as a retrofit without much difficulty. Its not easy to install unless you drain the pool first! The retrofit component (the black plate in the picture) seems a bit flimsy and it comes with cheap plastic tabs to hide the screws (safety feature) that end-up floating up in the drain cover so they can get sucked up later and clog your line. The last but not least annoying thing is that the provided screws might be too skinny for the default Hayward drain. The solution is to remove one screw from your existing drain cover and and compare it to what comes with the new drain cover kit. If your unlucky and can't find a match order a new pair of screws in the same gauge as the originals but an inch longer in order to be able to secure the cover as required safely.Please make sure not to turn on the pool pump or allow kids to swim with a broken drain cover or missing screws while your doing the repairs as it is huge safety hazard hence the new code!!This covers will not allow debris to go thru the openings unless the debris is really small, so if you don't have an automatic pool cleaner get one :-)

Easy enough to install if you can hold your breath for 10 minutes lol. The screw choices were odd....ended up using what was already in my pool. The new covers look great in the pool but seem less functional than the older, now illegal, covers that were in my pool. Seems pricey for what amounts to $.75 worth of plastic.....

The product was delivered in a timely manner and appears to be of good quality. I researched this on line and all of the sites that carry it advertise it as universal and will fit any drain... apparently except for mine. I will have to hire a diver to drill some holes if I want to use it.

Could not find a new drain cover to replace the missing one. This on fit right into place and works perfectly.

It works. Be sure you have tools handy for little adjustments.

The Paramount drain cover is easy to install and works very well. Just do not use it in places where you requuire large OR small debris removal. It does not remove any debris.
