The brushed gold color is PERFECT. All the parts are solid, heavy and smooth, which shows its very high quality. I'm not great at following printed directions so I just found a bunch of video tutorials on youtube which make installation easy for me. I also found screwing the headboard into the studs of your wall is much easier when installing this set. That way you can just screw the tracks above the door exactly where you need it. My barn door opens and closes so smoothly and silently. Highly recommend this gold barn door hardware kit.

I recently installed a barn door to separate my formal living space from my family room and decided to get this barn door hardware which matches a lot of my other accessories in the house with its brass coloring. First of all, I want to say that this is the most beautiful barn door hardware I've ever seen. It's absolutely stunning and elevates your space. The packaging comes with everything that is needed to install, except a header bar, and I found the instructions to be quite useful and easy to follow. Whether or not you need a header bar depends on where you are installing it. In my case the holes just didn't line up with where my studs were, so adding a header bar just made more sense for me. I ended up getting a very simple 3/4-in piece of sanded plywood and painted it before installing.One of the most important things to me when buying this Hardware was I wanted it to be nice and quiet. I was replacing a pocket door which had grown incredibly noisy with its small rollers. I'm happy to say that this hardware makes opening the much heavier barn door extremely easy and quiet. It's possible to buy barn door Hardware at your local big box store, but you definitely won't find anything of this quality and aesthetic. It's really well made and I'm very happy with it all around.

I have installed several barn doors and this is the most expensive one I have acquired on amazon and outside of being in gold everything else seems to be of the exact same quality. Outside of the lag bolts which appear to be better quality and that may be what pushed it over the edge.The color is also very nice and adds a nice pop in the house. Overall a good choice if you want to go with gold as the finish but if you are planning on painting it I would go with something less expensive.Until We Meet Again-Off the Grid Ken
