My new mantra after digesting this book is that the problems we have presently in our country is THE ECONOMY. I'm trying to catch myself up with economic issues trying to understand why we had to experience in 2008 The Great Recession. How to secure a better economic position regardless of party position. This book was very informative with a level reading I would place at 9th grade, comfort level for most readers is 6th grade; makes a difference here as to whether you read the whole book or set it aside as too much effort. Remember this is an amateur review and just how I feel.

A mix of positive and normative economics
I was looking for a book that was purely on positive economics. The first part of the book was a mix of positive and normative economics. I did appreciate the latter half with the 100 economic laws which I think is where the bulk of the value for this book resides.

The Basic
Common sense economics. Good introduction. Hunter Lewis is heavily influenced by one of the great economists Henry Hazlitt. I also recommend Where Keynes Went Wrong also written by Lewis.

Common sense economic basics
Solid book detailing economic basics with distinct criticisms of the Keynesian approach. There is a lot of common economic sense within these pages and the book should be informative for the novice as well as the seasoned economist. The book also criticizes the theories espoused by Obama's advisors as well as those by the Federal Reserve.

An excellent short introduction to the subject
An excellent short introduction to the subject. Well worth reading. A nice expansion and update of Henry Hazlitt's Economics in One Lesson. The author provides many simple, easy to understand examples that highlight the points he is making. It would make a great supplement to today's economics textbooks.

A must read book for every voter in an electoral democracy.
A must read for anyone who is serious about understanding our economy in layman’s terms that anyone can understand. It addresses my pet peeve that every voter needs to understand economics in order to properly assess what politicians promise voters during each election. Too many people treat elections as popularity contests rather than a job interview for making sound decisions as to how to spend public money. If it were up to me, no one would be allowed to vote without first reading this book and passing an exam on its contents.
