'The Occult' by Colin Wilson is an amazing compendium of occult practices and some of their bizzarre and eccentric adherents. Wilson also convincingly outlines his own theory about the psychic/ occult abilities of certain people; a characteristic he calls Factor X (written long before Simon Cowell's talent show!). Easy and interesting to read, this book will explain in simple terms aspects of the occult that most people find baffling.The copy I ordered came promptly. It was in reasonable condition for a 40 year-old paperback edition, and it sold at the amazing price of about three quid. So am I pleased? You betcha!

Weak for this author. A well referenced but shallow work by this author. Seems to he an exercise to achieve some level of academic respectability - disappointing

One very absorbing book on the background history and intelligent thoughts on the occult.Very easy to read and I found it hard to put down. Read like a good conversation with an old friend. Very thought prevoking and inspiring. Recommended reading for anyone with an interest in life, the universe and everything.
