I completely enjoyed this book Taking On Goliath. I read every single word and read it cover to cover in just 2 days. It was exciting like a novel and I just was so blown away at the vulnerability that the author showed throughout. It was a very long journey but the outcome, was so personally rewarding.. that the family became closer and that they realized that God was in control and wanted them to have a more simple life. What a great lesson for all of us!!!I would highly recommend Jim Dotson's story to anyone who wants to fight any big thing in life: Whether it be a corporate thing, or even healing a disease or losing weight, The lessons of endurance are GREAT for all of us, and being HUMBLED is a very common lesson as well. Thank you Jim for sharing your story and I personally gained a lot of insight into how much EFFORT it takes to completely change your life. thank you for sharing!!!

A story about what happens when you are literally "kicked to the curb" by your long term employer. Author Jim Dotson describes in vivid detail the pain and humiliation he endured when he lost his corporate job suddenly and unfairly immediately after adopting a child from Russia. The ensuing legal battle quickly draws in the reader as we read about David (Dotson) taking on the giant (Pfizer).After reading the scenario surrounding his job termination, I found myself marveling that any company would be surprised by a lawsuit given the behavior of the managers and personnel involved. I'm sure many who have suffered injustices at the hands of poor management will relate to this story.Even more compelling was the personal insights Dotson gained on his painful journey. Despite losing a job he greatly valued, the real treasures gained were of much greater value, namely a renewed commitment and passion for God and his family.Loved this book!

Jim Dotson engages two critical issues for our culture in this age: (1) The greedy, narcissistic culture engulfing many of our large corporations which leaves employees feeling under-valued and under-protected; (2) the challenges employees, particularly men, feel when the values of the company (which demand performance and production) compete against personal values such as family and faith. I would highly recommend that men in the workplace read this book. It not only inspires but instructs with humility and personal examples. It will serve its readers in the marketplace as a beacon in the foggy and ethically dangerous waters of the modern American corporate workplace.

This very well written and engaging story about one family's journey to adopt a sweet little baby will capture your heart.It's hard to believe that such a big corporation would allow one of their own long-time and successful employees to be put through such an ugly and painful process. Thankfully Jim Dotson and his family felt convicted to stand up for the truth. You can't help but root for the underdog. Not only was this story a great victory for the Dotsons, it also serves as a great reminder to all of us of what is truly important in life.

Fabulous book! I had heard about this case for years, and now have all the details. Dobson and Killian are a great writing duo! Hope they collaborate more often!

This story touches your heart as a family faces the difficulties of loosing everything yet gaining a daughter and a stronger, more faithful family. A must read!
