Middle of the road
It’s a perfectly drinkable flavoured tea but that’s about as much as it is.The fragrance is nice but unmistakably Chinese, while the flavour puts me in mind of one of the cheaper Whittard fruit teas. Think ‘English country garden’ and you may have an idea of the feel of the tea.Is it sencha? Well that’s difficult to tell; I can’t personally taste any Japanese sencha flavour at all but then with the global market ever expanding it’s possible there are now more variations beyond the traditional Japanese sencha. Is it Sakura flavour? Only in the loose sense that it does appear to have cherry flavouring (Sakura is Japanese cherry blossom) but the petals included in the bag to make you feel like it’s a Sakura tea are actually Rose petals and not Sakura at all. It’s a pleasant tea and I’m fairly happy with it to be honest as I bought it when it was on offer, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I know.
