First and foremost, the fact this play food set is wooden is the absolute best. Plastic fake food sets are sometimes cheaper for more but they don’t last and the Velcro is garbage. My 2.5 year old son loves his food truck and play kitchen and I’ve bought all kinds of sets. I lean into the wooden ones and I loved that this one came with unique fruit like dragonfruit and pears. It came with a cute basket and cleaning cloth (not sure why) and was packaged well. Totally worth the money and the Velcro is durable enough that the pieces stay together and honestly the basket is a nice bonus so it owes everything together. My son loves it and constantly serves me dragonfruit because he loves the name (he’s obsessed with dragons right now). He pretends to clean and wash the fruit with the silly cleaning cloth too.

My son is almost 2 and in a "play food" phase and this basket of fruit has not left his hands since opening the Amazon package.Each piece is a solid piece of wood, painted, with velcro holding the 2 halves together. The velcro is strong and it is a challenge for him to pull apart. If cutting with the play knife the halves do come apart easier. There are no chips or blemishes in the paint. The basket and cutting board are also solid wood but unpainted. Quality craftsmanship all the way around.All pieces are large enough so there is no choking hazard with any of the pieces.Rating on quality alone this set is a Solid 5 Stars. Rating with cost considered I give it 4. For $16 (at the time of writing this review) I have seen other wooden sets that contain many more food items (12-16 items 24-32 total pieces) for about the same price. I do not have any other brands in hand though to make note of quality and size.

I love these wooden Montessori play foods! They come with Velcro , so when cutting the fruits in half, with the toy knife, they can put it back together with the Velcro on the inner sides of the fruits! It is absolutely adorable! It comes with a great storage box, and the quality is superb! This wooden pretend play fruit and food set comes with an apple, banana, pear, orange, dragon fruit, a wooden knife, and the storage cart to keep all toys neatly when stored away! I highly recommend these Montessori pretend toys for kids!

When I first opened this, I thought it was a little on the small side. Turns out, it's the perfect size for my little ones hands. My 4 and 2 year old both love to carry around the little box and 'practice' cutting up the food. The wood is decent quality, smooth, and the colors are nice. Overall, it's been a fantastic little toy that has already gotten a lot of use from my kids. I would recommend this to others who have children that like to pretend to cook.

We got this for a gift for my niece and she was so excited to open it. It is darling, high quality, and compact. The little wooden crate contains all the pieces. It makes excellent pretend play for food, also good for matching activities and hand/eye coordination for toddlers. I recommend this colorful play food set.

I love this! Its the perfect little size for little hands. My 18 month old son loves watching us cook in the kitchen and now he loves to pretend to do the same. Hes a bit young to "cut" them and the velcro is very strong so its hard for him to pull them apart but I feel like typically the velcro loses its strength so Im glad its starting off strong. It comes with the normal fruits and then also a dragon fruit which I thought was pretty funny. The wood is well made and does not feel cheap.

Considering the price, I was disappointed with this set. The first picture they show makes it appear that you get two of each fruit, but you only get one of each. I found that the fruits are somewhat difficult to "cut" through most likely due to the wood knife being so thick. Even when you press down really hard, you have to be careful because the halves of the fruit go flying across the table. The wood is not sanded well enough, so the basket, cutting board, and the knife all had tiny wood splinters that could get stuck in your child's fingers or hands. Overall, I think you should avoid this set and buy something that is better quality for your child that won't cause you to worry that they can get hurt by it.
