Great tool!
I recently purchased the Has & Fas Garlic Press, and I can’t recommend it enough! This stainless steel 304 garlic press is not just durable but also incredibly efficient. Better than a garlic press but not perfect
I have all bar given up with garlic presses and stopped using them until I re-purchased one recently and, updated as it was, I still found it too much faff and went back to the chopping board. The only thing that ever worked for me is the ceramic type but then you end up with garlic smelling fingers (unless you have a garlic stone to hand). So I jumped at the chance to try this Has & Fas press when it came up on the Vine programme.My husband looked at it with disdain - he has turned to the ready crushed variety but I don't think that holds it's flavour like the fresh cloves.So, how did this work? It comes with one of those silicon tubes into which you place the clove and roll it in your hands with a view to the skin coming off but, I have never managed to do that. It must be possible but I have never mastered the technique. The press itself you just grab the handle and rock away on top of your garlic cloves. I found it quite hard work and, you need to use a lot of pressure before the cloves are suitably pressed and it does not - as per a standard press - crush the outer skin + it sticks onto the press so you still have to grab a knife and scrape it off or use the brush..The little perforations do not appear to be anything but loads of little holes in the stainless steel and not sharp.Cleaning is easy, much easier than a standard press.Price wise, go for it, it's cheap for what it is. Good quality, it's not perfect but, unless you like a lot of faff or your hands to reek of garlic or to go chasing slithers of the stuff round a chopping board (how does Jamie do it?), then this is probably as good as it gets.

Works Very Well, Minces Garlic in Seconds
Using this garlic press is far easier and much quicker than trying to chop up a clove of garlic with a knife. It works very well. I cut the root ends from the cloves and then roll them individually in the tube which removes all the skin. Put a clove on the chopping board and press really hard to break it. Then roll the press back and forth until you can't push any more garlic through. The minced garlic can then be scraped off in one sweep with a knife. There's always going to be a flat piece left over that won't go through the holes, but this can be squished up and squashed again until there's minimal waste. It's rather neat and saves so much time and no more sticky garlicky fingers either. The only thing that doesn't work for me is the brush. It's okay for poking any left over pieces through the holes but it's too flimsy and the bristles just bend against the metal. It's not vital. The tube and the press are easy to clean in soapy water with a cloth or sponge. I'm really glad I got this now, as I do use a lot of garlic and grow my own, so it's going to be a hardworking utensil in my kitchen.
