Review: GREAT device for the money. - I've only had this device since 4/4, but as a regular user of MP3 players, I was able to go through most of the features to be able to provide a reasonable review. The Good/Great: For the money, this is actually a terrific little player. I was going to initially get the AGPTEK A02, but stepped up to this model and am pleased with my choice for like 5-7 more dollars. I've used a P3000 by Bassplay for about 8 years now, which still works well by the way, but I wanted the options of an FM radio and Bluetooth for my earbuds. Another nice side option is the voice recorder, which i have not tried yet. You can also record from FM Radio, again, a nice little feature I may or may not use. Sound quality is terrific and you will definitely notice the sound difference between your FLAC and lower quality MP3 recordings. There's also a pedometer, a stopwatch, a calendar, a clock and the ability to look at photos (The last of which I won't use, but still it's a nice option if you want). I loaded my music into the device by folders, and the device sorts by artists, folders, albums, genres and saved playlists. When you use the Shuffle feature, it shuffles through ALL songs, which my P3000 could not do (it would only shuffle songs in the root directory - anything in Folders was ignored when I'd try to shuffle all songs). There's a Micro SD slot and I can "Expand up to 128GB using a TF card (not included) for a total capacity of 196GB." Product description says the battery lasts 48 hours of continuous playing, but the device is still too new for me to make an educated determination regarding battery life. At 100g, this device is slightly heavier than the P3000, but it's still a light device, compared to some of the chunkier devices out there. Weight's not an issue for me, either way, as I use this device in my car, directly into my AUX. The build is solid and the glass front with touch buttons is nicer than I expected. The Not So Great: The included instructions are pretty basic and don't include everything. The menu is right there on the home screen, but it takes some getting used to and does not include all features and functions. You actually have to be "in" the music to see "Random, Repeat, etc" functions. This is the same with the equalizer settings. The first thing I did after loading up all my music was to connect my BT earbud and I had to crank up the volume all the way to hear the music at a normal level (not sure if this is due to my year-old earbuds or the device itself). I have not tried the included wired earbuds yet, but I do know they are required as the antenna for the FM radio. Supposedly you can save FM presets, but again, the instructions are bare minimum, and I can't figure out how to save the presets yet. Otherwise, it scans for all stations every time you try to use the radio. Summation: I love this device and I love that I spent under $40 for it. I'm getting a whole ton of bang for my buck. Only thing I wish they had included would be a little neoprene (or similar) sleeve to hold it in.

This is my first detailed review for a product. There is some very minor incentive from the manufacturer to write an honest review, which isn't even enough to pay for my time to write this review. I wrote this because I like the product. I paid just under US$35.00 for this in September 2020. I bought this AGPTEK A19X mp3 player to replace a failing 5th gen (aka Stubby) iPod Nano and a 7th gen iPod Nano that I accidentally fatally damaged. My main use case for this product is spoken voice (podcast and audiobook) listening. I am an audiophile and use much higher quality and priced Fiio players for music listening. Pros: - Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by the build quality and software user interface and reliability. - This player feels very solid and built to last. - It is very pocketable. - The controls and menu system are intuitive to use. I didn't even read the included user manual. - It is a good value, especially for podcast and audiobook listening. - I have not listened yet to any file types other than mp3. - Battery life seems to be excellent, but I haven't played it long enough to run down the battery. - Sound quality is good, but not as well balanced as the much more expensive various iPods and Nanos I have owned over the years. However, spoken voice sound is easier to hear and understand in noisy environments due to its bright sound. It seems to lack bass, and has an emphasis on mid and high frequencies. Proviso: I've only listened with inexpensive MEE earphones, which may have an impedance unsuitable for this player. I have not yet tried the earphones that came with this player. - It is easy to connect to my Bluetooth portable speaker. Haven't tried yet to connect it to my car's BT system. Cons: - The different audio equalizer settings don't seem to change the sound much, if at all. - The Repeat setting only seems to affect the current file, and is not a global setting. It is annoying to constantly change it for each file I play. General Comments: I wish the Resume feature was automatic instead of a menu selection. Generally speaking I want a file to start playing from where I left off listening. If I want to start over, then I'd rather use the back button to skip to the beginning of the file. I'd prefer to have global settings in addition to per file settings. Summary: I didn't expect this player to match the sound quality of much more expensive competitors. It doesn't sound as good as higher priced units, at least with the earphones I use. But it doesn't have to for my needs. In most other respects, however, it exceeds my expectations for a US$35 player. It is well built, and is so far reliable and easy to use. Most people use their expensive smart phones to listen to music, etc, but I prefer a dedicated device that is small and has more features designed for listeners.
