Works well for apnea tracking
The rechargeable version of the CMS50D+. I bought this one as it's slightly more attractive, somewhat lower profile due to a built in battery.It features SpO2 recording without needing to be tethered to a computer or USB cable, which is great. Device is pretty comfortable with a reasonable hinge mechanism to adjust for finger sizing. Controls are slightly confusing but boil down to one button: press to change options, long press to select options.Screen is easy enough to read, and device is based on the accurate CMS50D which was proven in studies.Compatible with Sleepyhead Sleep Apnea software.Only minus is that this uses a USB Mini cable instead of Micro, which will have reliability problems over time (Mini-B connectors are rated for only 5k insert / removal cycles).

Rechargeable and can connect to the computer is a nice feature. Very helpful and accurate
Bought this product for my father who has issues with low oxygen levels and is on an oxygen therapy plan. Doctors recommended that we monitor his levels 24/7 so we bought this one. We also own a cheap one from CVS and did some comparisons with it. I actually love this meter, the readings are very good and responsive. The fact that it is rechargeable is a huge benefit, no need to worry about having extra batteries. The included software is also a plus, that displays the oxygen and pulse levels on your computer which I like as well. No need to bother my father with asking what his readings are, all we have to do is check the computer screen if he does choose to have it linked. Overall I like this product. No issues so far.

Won't upload to Windows 7 Pro computer
Appears good quality. Tried to connect it to 2 Windows 7 pro computers, but supplied software and SleepyHead software could not retrieve any data from it. I tried all advice from seller FaceLake but was still unable to get it to work, so I returned it.

I do not recommend this product for the following reasons: the device must be taped on to stay on during the night and the clamp is tight and hurt my finger. The data download process is very complicated. Also after only several uses, I was unable to download any data so the device is now useless.

Lacks software capabilty of other CONTEC Oximeters
Why doesn't this device support SPO2 Assistant v 3.0.4 like 50D Plus?? Very disappointed because that version of software has report formats that is lacking on 50E.

CMS50E - BATTERY IS NOT REPLACEABLE, SCREEN FADES BADLY WITH AGE
This unit functioned very well when new BUT after a couple of years there is no service available. It was disheartening to learn that the rechargeable battery is not replaceable AT ALL so the only recourse was to purchase another unit.Also, the manufacturer's literature does not mention battery replacement after the warranty.I purchase this unit new but I am not sure where I bought it.
