I have used screw extractors in the past with an adjustable spanner / tap handle and it's always a challenge - with these tools it is MUCH easier to control, the extraction process - you have a firm grip on the screw extractor and a nice long handle with a ratchet on to provide leverage and control - great solution to a tricky problem.

I got these tap sockets because I find the T-handle wrench included with my tap and die set to be very difficult to keep straight, and I find the taps often fall out of it.In this pack you get two tap sockets - one for smaller taps (e.g. M3, M4, M5) and one for larger taps (M6 up).I first tried it with my M3 tap, as that is what I use quite regularly for small hobby projects. Immediately I was disappointed that on tightening up the collar, the tap was held at about a 10° angle in the chuck.I took it apart and found that one of the two chuck jaws was rubbing against the rough finish of its seat. I gave it a quick file and applied some 3-in-1 oil, and tried again with my M3 tap, and was very pleased to find it tightened correctly and held the tap perfectly straight.I can now use a 3/8" drive socket handle, or a longer T-bar, to tap holes, which feels much easier to use than the little handle that came with my tap and die set.So minus one star for the poor finish on one of the tap sockets, but it was easily fixed and I'm now pleased with the items.
