Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, Twentieth Edition (Vol.1 & Vol.2)

I grew up learning medicine with Harrison’s. I have bought every edition since the 11th. This 20th edition will not disappoint its long-established fan base. The content has been thoroughly revised and refreshed. The prose is concise, clear and consistent. It is easy and pleasurable to read. The clarity of thought makes it the premier textbook for all students of internal medicine. The clinical practice is very much American, but the general principles are relevant to practitioners anywhere in the world. The 20th edition is bulkier than the 19th (3528 pages cf 2770 pages excluding indices): the chapters which were available only in electronic form in the 19th are now back in print, and there are numerous new chapters and topics.The only minor gripes are that (a) the paper is probably too thin (this appears to be the trade-off for keeping the volumes thin and light enough to hold), and (b) online access is only through subscription. Neither should detract from the sheer joy of reading this refreshed classic.

There are more than 30 Harrison series books translated to Chinese and published in China, these books help many Chinese doctors, I am glad to get the 20th version, very useful to our scientist and physicains

been able to answer all questions I've had so far . up to date. easy reading. no tedious over the top description. only downside I guess is it weighs more than the average student debt

I’m a PA and used these when I practiced emergency medicine and cardiology. They’re an excellent resource. Also, I have a teenage nephew that’s way too smart for his own good. He’s flipping brilliant and loves medical info so I bought him this set to read in his spare time. He’s already driving his mom a bit batty with the in-depth medical knowledge he’s gaining, but I figure I’m giving him a head start on his potential medical school studies. Lol

I was excited after receiving the books and found brand new books in apparently original packaging.I found these books old (20th Edition ) compared to the current edition ( 21st Edition) but as so far as condition of books is concerned, these are NOT used books.There is no doubt about the content of this book. You may go for this edition if you are interested only in knowing basic principles of medicine and possible line of treatments as there may not be much addition to 21st edition with respect to these aspects.However, if you are a medical practitioner or a medical student, you must go far the latest edition which is currently available in the market.
