Significant upgrade from my PWM power charger. Vendor support so far isn't great though. I've been trying to get information and setting it up for AGM batteries but haven't gotten information back yet, sigh

Works well for charging my HAM radio battery, high quality, feature rich, straightforward menu.
I am an amateur radio operator. I am the designated member of my club that provides solar power to our HAM radios when we operate in the field. Since we are an emergency communications group, using solar power eliminates our dependency on the Grid. Also, for contact competitions we get more points when we operate off solar power.I own several AcoPower solar components and have always been impressed with the quality and value they deliver. This is my first MPPT controller. All of my previous controllers have been PWM controllers which aren't as efficient or feature rich as this MPPT controller. If you are building a solar system, you should consider spending a little more money to get an MPPT controller rather an a cheaper PWM. Why? Because MPPT is more efficient at transferring energy from your PV array to your battery bank. This AcoPower controller is a very good choice. This controller has many features not found on lessor models. For example, you can attach an optional LCD panel that can be located in a more convenient location away from the controller. This could be inside a house, cabin or an RV where viewing the controller LCD is inconvenient or impractical.Another feature I like the is ability to attach an optional temperature sensor that will monitor the temperature of your batteries. Batteries are typically the most expensive component of your solar system and this is a good safeguard against battery damage due to overheating.I tested this controller by setting up a small test bed consisting of a 100watt solar panel and a 35Ah SLA battery in a box. This is typical for our club use (see photo). it worked very well. Although there was hazy sunshine outside, I got about 20watts from the panel -- enough to test the controller. I didn't change any of the factory settings for this test because the controller defaults to SLA parameters which is what my battery uses. Although the battery was partially charged when I started, in about 15 minutes it reached 100% charge. After the test, I experimented with changing some of the parameters. It was straightforward and the included manual does a good job explaining how to do this. First, i changed the default Celsius temperature LCD readout to Fahrenheit. it was easy.Next, I experimented changing the battery type. I was able to cycle through SLA, GEL, Fld and USE types. USE is used for entering User custom settings. If you have LiFeP04 batteries, you will need to enter these manually as there is no LiFeP04 setting. I was a little disappointed with this since many newer solar installations use LiFeP04 batteries. The manual has a list of the LiFeP04 and Li(NiCoMn)02 parameters so you won't have to chase them down. It's a minor issue because it only needs to be set once.Update 5-28-2022I have been making the move from SLA to LiFeP04 batteries. I tried configuring this controller for LiFeP04 and was having difficulty. I contacted AcoPower support and they provided me a solution that is straightforward and works well. I now have it configured for LiFeP04 and can go back to SLA anytime. This is an excellent controller backed by a company that provides very good support. This is a high quality MPPT controller that is consistent with the quality of the AcoPower brand. i highly recommend it.

Good MPPT controller for larger RV/Trailer projects
The construction and materials used in this controller are very good. I found that it accurately managed solar charging needs for a trailer I built with a pair of 100ah LiFePO batteries. (Actually this controller is probably overkill for that application, but I tend to always size-up on stuff like this). I found the instructions easy to understand and follow and the feature set to be everything I needed. Note that if you want remote management you have to purchase a separate module (the MT-50) for about $40 (it is a wired controller via RJ-45 connector and cable) and if you want temperature control (such as for Lithium batteries like mine) you need to purchase a separate temperature probe for about $15 or $20.

works great
I got it hooked up on my small travel trailer with up to 3 100 watt panels on a lifepo4 battery and it is charging well. Works well.
