Great shape, warmer than celluloid; somehow a "Pro" flatpick isn't...flat.
I really like the size and shape for improved control/accuracy, and for being far less droppable than a lot of picks. Due to its length, you can easily vary grip--tighter for accurate runs, looser for strumming--while easily retaining the pick. Seems to aid tremoloing over strings as well. These look like celluloid, but are made of some kind of "quality" "industrial" thermoplastic. Nicely rounded edges, and fairly thick at 1.5mm. Produces a full, warm tone. Not clicky, not bright. Tonally, it's a touch warmer than celluloid (and thus warmer than Tortex and ultem too). That may be a positive or negative depending on your tastes. I've seen a lot of love for these picks, and a few detractors calling them dull, but it's down to preference and instrument...some people like added sparkle or zing from their picks; I don't. So I like the tone in general use, and only sometimes reach for something brighter. The downside of the Pro Plec--and the irony--is that a flatpick called the Pro isn't flat. How very pro. Basically all 12 had at least some slight random curve, and nearly half were outright warped, and a couple twisted. A good 4-6 of the 12 picks I'd call unusable. A few borderline, a few okay-to-good.I'm not AS bothered by a very slight cupping-to-curve (if symmetrical), which might even aid grip...but any other random warpage or a pick tip skewing upward or downward is pretty unacceptable in a flatpick.I emailed D'Andrea five days ago about the warping ruining nearly half the pack...they haven't replied. I've seen a couple other people claim D'Andrea is well aware of the problem, just not doing anything about it.I've seen it claimed that D'Andrea addressed the warping by switching materials or methods (I think the older ones are gloss, and the newer ones are satin). I've gotten a couple packs of the satin...still quite a few bent picks.I've also read a couple reports of previously-flat Pro Plecs developing bends or warping over time. So there's another concern. In summary, great shape and warm tone, but somewhat hampered and devalued by inconsistency. If I buy 12 picks at $12, I don't want a few good picks, a several bent picks, and several severely warped picks. If I didn't like the shape and tone, I wouldn't have gone as high as 3 stars.

Great pick for dark jazz tone.
I finally found a pick that works for me as an arch top jazz guitarist. By adding a bit of sandpaper grip to the body of the pick it stays in place between my fingers and does what's asked of it.

I totally love these picks
I totally love these picks. I'm a jazz player and these wonderful picks give you the soft, warm tone you need for jazz soloing. The edges are smoothly rounded off - so no harsh, sharp edges to rub against the string and create nasty scraping tones.

I have used Dunlop Jazz I and II picks for years. I find that these picks give a mellower tone which I prefer. This is my second order of these picks.

Outstanding pick
For jazz -- I've not found anything better for a thunky low frequency tone.
