Craft Cocktails - Assouline Coffee Table Book

I bought this to supplement the Vintage Cocktails book from the same publisher, it is newer and has a lot of really creative recipes with great photos to go along with each drink.The only caveat, nearly all of these cocktails include somewhat exotic ingredients, so be aware these drinks are not going to be something you can make without a significant amount of purchases/preparation. It's great for ideas though, you just have to be aware when your friends come over that most of the cocktails are not easily producible... :)

I learned about this book from a bartender friend who seeks out the latest and best cocktail recipe books. It's a beautiful book to merely peruse for the lush photos and "coffee table appeal." I've only now started making a few of the cocktails. The names of the cocktails are so clever, like the "Drink Responsibly", "By Any Other Name" and "Hoist the Colors Punch." If you are a serious mixologist or want to pretend you're one at home with friends, this is the book for you.

Book definitely has some interesting and inventive cocktail recipes. Its been a while since any cocktail book really challenged my existing selection of liquors and this definitely does. I like the spiral binding for leaving it open as you build a drink, however I can't stand the crazy typography used which makes some of the recipes very difficult to read -- even more so if it isn't the first of the night you're following.

This is such a colorful and fun book to have in your cocktail collection. We purchased 6 of these books as wedding gifts along with an infuser to make a couple of the fun drinks. We have tried a couple drinks in here already and we truly enjoy the book.

Already reviewed the other Vintage and Celebrity. Yes you have to spend a bit of $ to collect all basic spirits and added ingredients BUT to me is worth it BUT you can limit yourself and it always looks good on top of your coffee table.

Wonderful book to have at your bar, fun to try new drinks, but mostly the pictures are a work of art. I have all three books now.

Font of the recipes is difficult to read. Many ingredients are difficult to find and/or make.

I hear this is an interesting cocktail book, but at $50(!) with no idea of what recipes are inside or what the book itself looks like, I'm not about to drop the cash to find out. Also, could there be a less original title than "Craft Cocktails"? There's at least 3 other books with a similar title (2 of which I own and enjoy)--the team couldn't be Assoulined to come up with something a little more evocative?

Absolutely brilliant! Such a creative design. I bought it as a gift and they loved it.
