Water-clear and easy to use
If degassed properly this epoxy resin is colorless even in thick sections. There are probably more expensive optically-clear resins available, but judging by the smaller sample casting that I did make I see no reason you couldn't easily make castings up to the specified maximum of 3" with crystal-clear transparency. The sample castings in the photos were made in some silicone molds that I had lying around. The matte-finish castings were not completely transparent only because the original molds were made from parts that had be prepared with a flat finish primer, so you are seeing a faithful reproduction of the flat finish of the original. The vintage radio knob molds on the other hand were made from original shiny bakelite parts, so the resin castings came out more transparent. The resin itself is clear, but the surface finish of the mold will determine if the finished casting is transparent. The resin is very easy to mix with the 1:1 ratio. It is generally difficult to thoroughly mix the two parts without introducing bubbles, so if clarity is important you need to degas the resin. The instructions do suggest that you can do this with a heat gun or by waving a flame over the open surface of the resin, but this is only useful if you have a thin part with an open-face mold. I did not take any steps to remove the bubbles in the parts in the photos because I was only testing the resin. However to fully remove the bubbles I would normally do the following:1) Vacuum degas the resin in the mixing cup after thoroughly mixed2) Slowly pour the resin in a very thin strand into the mold, rotating the mold if necessary3) VERY slowly vacuum degas the resin in the mold so that it doesn't erupt and overflow4) Finally allow the resin to cure under pressure (only if the mold itself was cured under pressure). The transparency of this material leave many coloring options available using tinting colors designed specifically for epoxies. This material will flow easily for several hours after mixing and must be contained in a mold or by means of a perimeter dam wall if you are pouring onto a flat surface.I found even at 24 hours the parts were still somewhat soft and distortable so I demolded at 36 hours instead. It should also be noted that this is not like a snap-cure urethane resin that goes quickly from liquid to solid with very little gel time. Like most epoxy resins the cure is very linear, going from liquid, to sticky and imprintable, to soft and flexible but generally safe to demold, and finally hard like plastic after several days. If you want to avoid any distortion at all I would leave the part in the mold for several days or accelerate the cure by leaving the mold in a warm environment. Finally, regarding the allowable thickness of the castings, there are some mixed messages in the product listing and the instructions. The original description warns that the resin is NOT for deep pours and should not exceed 1/2" thickness. Later in the text near the photos a maximum depth of 2" is specified. However the paper instructions that accompany the kit say that you can cast up to 3" depth. I think the limitation here is that the resin self-heats when curing, and too large of a mass can get so hot in the middle that you may get yellowing or even stress fractures. I wouldn't be afraid to try casting in thick sections up to 3" but it would be best to make sure that you are on the cooler side of the allowable temperature range or that you provide some cooling of the mold during the entire cure process.I found this to be a very good product with plenty of working time and excellent clarity.

Still tacky after 24
Not unhappy with this resin. It was a small quantity considering so I didn't really get a chance to test the "deep pour" theory (it only ended up being about 1/2 thick in the mold I was using). Mixed together well though took about 10 minutes of hand stirring. Released bubbles very well and has cured a beautiful crystal clear. It is still tacky-too tacky to demold- after 24 hours, but it is well on its way to being fully cured.

Crystal Clear results
I was working on doing some deeper pours than I usually do, and tried this. I put my resin in a vacuum chamber before pouring to remove bubbles and my items came out perfectly. No bubbles, it cured well. I tried with micas and dyes and there seems to be no issues with discoloration or yellowing so far.

Clear and simple
Works great and exactly as you would expect. When it is completely set (24 hours) it is completely clear as you would hope from your epoxy. It is easy to mix and so far has been just as durable as any other bran I have used. I used it for this pair of earrings I made with dried flowers and it is holding up well a week in. Solid value for the cost.

A truly excellent resin, albeit a lengthy cure time.
I used this in one of my A/B epoxy guns. It was a rather small repair job but, I have to say, it did an EXCELLENT job. I did demold it earlier than the instructions call for having done, but the job was small, and resin concentration was low. I felt pretty confiden demolding early. I was right. As with most resins, the thickness of your resin cast/pour has a great deal to do with how quickly demold can happen, and still be a strong hold/cure.I epoxied a couple of pieces of pieces of acrylic together (at a 90), and allowed it to set overnight. By morning, it was ready, and held strong. I was quite happy with the results, especially since it created a nearly crystal clear corner. It also forms a water/air tight seal, between the two pieces, used this way. I'm creating some silicone rubber casting mold forms, and this looks like an IDEAL solution, for such.I can definitely recommend these with a four star endorsement.

Only came with one bottle the number 2
Only came with the second bottle not sure what happened to the other bottle - could have been a shipping issue. But the one bottle that did come seems great and figuring out how I can use it.

Cures Clear and Solid
This epoxy is nice for somewhat larger molds. It cures clear and solid. With careful mixing there weren't too many bubbles either. Nice resin for multiple different molds and projects.

And it's a good value
Promise resin is one of my favorite companies to buy resin from. Especially the one hour fast cure. I have confidence in the Promise brand.
