Squirrel Feeder with Lift-Up Lid, Wooden Outdoor Garden Squirrel Feeder, Waterproof Durable

Received quickly, came in kit form with all holes pre-drilled and even a small screwdriver supplied. All well prepared and very easy to assemble. Waiting for the squirrels to notice it now 👍

We have some local thugs with crowbar hands and hobnail boots on their feet. They scamper around causing chaos and breaking things, the group have all been nicknamed Nutkin.This is the second feeder purchased, previous was from a different seller was of raw wood double the thickness and a thicker piece of clear plastic for the front. This failed very quickly. Virtually over night in the rain it started to warp and then once the wood started to fail the mini monsters did the rest, a year later I'm finding bits of that feeder.This feeder is thinner, lighter weight, BUT has been finished with a varnish or lacquer that repels the water, the mini horrors haven't tried to eat it. Possibly partly due to the side access which the squirrels can easily pop their heads in. This house prevents water spoiling the treats put out with the flap overlapping the top slightly, the flap makes for easy filling and the wings either side mean it's less of a projection into the garden, whilst giving the stable platform for the squirrels.The base and back have added runners that provide a standoff for the feeder from the ground, tree, wall or how this is mounted allowing air movement and preventing rot or mould.The screwdriver provided works but id recommend a proper tool for the job if you have it (think hand tool not finger tool). Two improvements that can be made to the feeder, firstly it would be nice if the base had a couple of small holes under the food area to allow any water to drip out, or a slight slope on the bottom board to angle water to run under the clear plastic. The clear plastic is also very lightweight, I was worried out mini furball thugs might throw it out it might get caught in the wind, a simple fix was to use one of the small spare hinge screws in the track just about the top of the plastic, screwed in it holds the plastic in place, but isn't long enough to protrude though the wood.The feeder comes flat packed, it's very easy to put together and comes with a couple of spare screws and hardware to fix the feeder to a wall or tree. At the price charged it's cheaper than trying to make your own unless you have the parts kicking around, plus alot less time to make.It's not only a hit with the squirrels but the crows, magpies and ravens that we have visit have learned how to use it, and it's design keeps the fox and cats out.Would recommend this with a wireless CCTV camera positioned so you can watch the wildlife remotely.Picture shows Nutkins approval!

Squirrels find it difficult to use as there is no platform at front to lift up lid. Pigeons eat most of food from the side holes, afraid its just not practical for my garden. Will have to replace it with a normal lift up lid with longer front platform, sadly.

Ordered on Sunday, arrived on Wednesday and squirrels using it by Saturday. They love it thank you. Easy to build as its in a small flatpack and even the screwdriver was included

Within hours the squirrels had made the holes bigger - I found one squirrel actually sat inside having a great time - also not waterproof so it ended up all congealed at the bottom - getting through twice the amount of peanuts (which are ridiculously expensive at the best of times) so it’s coming down again

This item was easy to build, very soon after putting on the fence, we had our first squirrel, great we thought and then a large mouse, so we have taken it down, until we catch the mouse

Some of the prefilled jokes for the screws are too large & had to source larger diameter screws. The screws fir fixing to a wall, tree or post are the same length as the assembly screws & therefore too short. No idea what the wood thickening pieces are intended to do, it's certainly not for strength.

The build was perfect as it allowed both squirrels and small birds to feed without the interference of the bigger birds such as magpies.

Es un comedero hecho de madera sin tratar, para que las ardillas se sientas bien cómodas entrando y saliendo de él.Me gusta la marte de metacrilato, donde puedes ver a la ardilla dentro cogiendo algo de comida o ver si el comedero está vacío, espero que esta parte no les de por roerla.El montaje es muy sencillo, no tiene mucha complicación, muy fácil de montar e incluye unos agujeros ya hechos para poder o colgarlo o taladrarlo (en mi caso, he preferido colgarlo con una cuerda).Muy recomendable para la gente que vive cerca de estos animalillos.No se el tiempo que durará, ya que al ser madera no tratada las inclemencias del tiempo pueden acabar dilatando la madera, pero mientras tanto, las ardillas tan contentas.

Très facile à monter et hâte de le mettre dans le jardin pour la famille ecureuil.

La casetta mangiatoia per scoiattoli arriva smontata in una scatola di cartone. Il legno di cui è fatta è robusto e spesso. Il legno è stato trattato per renderlo impermeabile e resistente alla pioggia. L'assemblaggio è facile e richiede pochi minuti. Piacevole il lato frontale in plastica per vedere quanto cibo c'è ancora all'interno. Spero di essere stato utile. Saluti Exigent

Meine 6-jährige Tochter und ich hatten uns wirklich darauf gefreut, die Suewidfay Eichhörnchen Futterstation zusammenzubauen, aber das Projekt hat uns leider mehr Frust als Freude bereitet. Der mitgelieferte Schraubenzieher passt einfach nicht richtig zu den Schrauben – die sind viel zu klein, was das Zusammenschrauben unnötig kompliziert gemacht hat. Zudem war das Holz nicht 100% passgenau, wodurch das Zusammenbauen noch schwieriger wurde.Ein weiteres Problem: Unterhalb der Scharniere gibt es einen Spalt, durch den Wasser direkt in die Futterschale laufen kann. Das ist wirklich ärgerlich, da es den Futterspender im Regen praktisch unbrauchbar macht, wenn man diesen Fehler nicht selbst behebt. Ein paar zusätzliche Handgriffe und Dichtungsmaterial sind also notwendig, um das zu korrigieren.Insgesamt ist die Futterstation okay für 2-3 Jahre im Garten, aber sie erfordert definitiv Nacharbeit, um richtig zu funktionieren. Schade, dass es so viel Mühe kostet – ich hätte mir mehr erwartet. Daher gibt es von uns leider nur 2 Sterne. ⭐⭐

En mi jardín veo que corretea de vez en cuando alguna ardilla, espero que este comedero especifico para ellas les guste y se acostumbren a coger la comida de el El comedero en si es sencillo, viene por piezas separadas que se han de montar con los tornillos que también adjunta… lo único que no me gustó, es que las bisaras de la tapa no tienen los agujeros ya premarcados en la madera (el resto si los lleva), y una vez atornillarla la tapa no queda totalmente cerrada de la parte delantera, queda algo levantada y ahora no puedo volver a atornillar mas arriba ya que si no se harán los agujeros más grandes. A parte, también veo que una vez atornillada la tapa, justo donde están las bisagras quedan unos milímetros de separación con la parte trasera, lo que supone que si llueve entrará agua en el interior donde hay la comida y lo he tenido que solucionar poniéndole cinta aislante para sellarlo.
