Easy game to learn.

Not the easiest of game’s to learn, you have to have your wit’s about you, but fun. I thought £22.99 for to packs of playing cards was expensive.

It's a word association game, that's reasonably quick , and can get "frantic" .

Such a brilliantly fun game. So glad I bought this even though the price had risen. I recommend everyone buy this as you will be in stitches!

I bought this game after it was recommended over at Boing Boing, as a nice, quick, funny game, for all the family, and it pretty much lives up to that billing. "Anomia" is the name for the condition when you cannot think of the correct word to identify an object. It might be on the tip of your tongue, you know exactly what it is, and can describe it in a roundabout way, but cannot spit out the actual label for that item. It can be exacerbated under pressure or time constraints, which is how this game works.It won the Mensa select award in 2010.The strength of the game is it's simplicity, as long as you are old enough to read, you can play the game. You need at least 3 to play, but the game is best when there are 4-6 players. The game is simply 2 decks of cards, with symbols and items printed on each card. For example, a card may have a cross symbol and the text "Super power" written on it.One deck is selected, placed in the middle, and each player draws a card in turn, turning it over to reveal it to the other players and placing it in front. This continues, with each player looking out for a symbol match. When a player notices two cards where the symbols match, the quickly "face off" by trying to name something that corresponds with the text on their opponants card. the first to give an acceptable answer wins that trick and the cards are removed. In the example above, "Super Power" could be invisibilty.It's a very simple premise, but much trikier in reality, you must look over all cards for a match, you have to quickly think of the appropriate word and be able to spit it out faster than your opponant....When the two cards are removed by the winner, it typically reveals two fresh cards instantly, and a "cascade" can occur, where several "face off" happen in rapid succession - this is where the game excels, and it is hilarious to see people fumble and mumble, and to get assaulted on all sides with people shouting out the first thing they can think of. it's fast and frenetic.I only give it 4 stars, as with only two decks, the same subjects can come up repeatedly, and you can hear the same answers crop up round after round, you can make a rule against this though, so it doesn't ruin the game by any stretch.

Bought this game after someone pulled it out at a recent games night. First time I saw people play it, I thought it was going to be one of those impossible word games. Turns out I was completely wrong.Easy to understand, and hard to master. We always add additional rules to make it even harder to find words -- and have a great time every time we pull the game out.The game itself comes with two decks so you don't have to continually see the same words (red and blue from the pictures).

Easy game to play and good for holidays. My dad didnt quite get it but that made it more funny. Some are hard and we just do not know any but just means you cant shout it out and the other person will win that card (or remember to google it after and then use it in the next game). Good fun for all the family like a shouty snap word game!

I had played this game earlier this year with friends and it was a right hoot! I've started university this fall and bought the game this week to play with my flat.... such a winner! Everyone was laughing and screaming. This is a loud game for sure, but it's pretty wholesome and cheery. We might invest in the expansion pack!

This is the "travel edition" of a larger board game...and a perfect size for taking to a group gathering. It is easy to learn; instructions are in the box and also on you tube. The joy is the quick pace and the addition of the wild cards and "cascading" add surprises just when it seems the game is being conquered. The only draw back is that the two decks are good for a couple times; the addition of the other decks included in the board game will be helpful if using this during a week at the beach. This is suitable for teens through senior adults. It may be frustrating for younger kids since it draws on vocabulary, experience and memory.It is an easy, fun pick-up game that brings groups together through laughter.
