It's a metal kneeboard.
Not much else to say -- performs as advertised. Used a clipboard before? Congrats, you'll know how to use this high tech bit of kit! All the VFR info is a nice touch, but obviously a little hard to read once you have a notepad on it. It would be good to have in a pinch though. Overall it is about the size of an iPad Air/Pro 11 inch. I usually sit with the seat all the way forward in a C172 and the yoke has never hit it, even on takeoff/landing or in performance maneuvers like stalls. There is not much adjustability on the band due to the relatively short length of the velcro patch. That sucks a tad if you have thin distance runner thighs like I do, but for most it is probably fine. It stays put perfectly well while flying, but if I forget to remove it and exit the cockpit while wearing the kneeboard, it quickly becomes and ankleboard. Awkward. The pen holder loop is again a good thought but a bit silly in practice -- I think you'd spend more time trying to put the pen back into it than you would using the pen to get the latest ATIS. I fly with my pen in the arm pocket of my flight jacket for this very reason, but if you don't fly in old Air Force regalia, YMMV.Overall a solid product, cheap, and a great starter for someone just entering flight school like I was. You can always upgrade to something else later!

Great knee board for PPL student
This is a solid, durable knee board, perfect for students. The lettering is actually silkscreened onto the board instead of just a big sticker. The clip holds a notepad well and the strap is reasonably comfortable. There's also a little pen loop on the strap which is a nice touch

Sturdy and Helpful!
I'm in the middle of training for my PPL and ordered this kneeboard. It is sturdy, has a nice elastic leg strap, and has lots of useful info written on it for quick reference. I have been able to land my plane perfectly every single time and do every maneuver perfectly because of this kneeboard (just kidding, I wish though). All in all, seems like it will hold up and I'm happy with my purchase!

Durable
This product was very durable and informative. It is a bit bigger than I imagined, which can sometimes be an issue. Easy to use and gets the job done.

Excellent kneeboard even well into commercial flight training
I bought this after watching a ton of videos and reading online of everything I needed to begin my flight training. Some of the items I've realized I didn't actually need, but this kneeboard is not one of those.I fly with this kneeboard on every single flight I go on with a pad of paper secured by the clamp and a Pilot G-2 (aka the best pen in the world) hooked in with the pen slot. The information can be useful if you can find the time to read what is on it. I'd fly with this kneeboard and pad of paper over having an iPad any day.
