Great idea, but could use some refinement
The media could not be loaded. After opening this, the first thing I needed to do was insert batteries (3 x AAA). So I turned over the gadget, only to discover there was no screw holding the battery compartment closed. All other battery operated toys I've had in the last 10 months have had one, and this looks like it should have one.The cards cover a variety of subjects, from body parts, family members and animals to letters, numbers (0-9) and more. There are 40 double sides cards.I turned on the device and inserted a card, and this was where I started to feel this needs some tweaks. The screen the cards slide behind isn't clear, so the pictures become hard to see. I accept this has probably been done so that any writing on the screen shows, but it makes the images and words blurry. And it's hard to see what you're writing / drawing. On removing the card you can see the writing, but it's not as good as on an LCD tablet we have. You can also write on the screen without having a card in it, which means a slightly older child could copy the letters / numbers rather than tracing over them. When you insert a card the device says the word / letter, but the volume was pretty low. So I used the volume control button and tried again. A little louder, but still nowhere near as loud as on other flashcard toys we have. Whilst some parents may be pleased about this, I actually think it could do with at least one more step up.Without a card in the device, you can make it sing a song. There are 10 songs you can play, and pressing the button will skip between them. One of these is Jingle Bells, which doesn't sit well with me as I like to keep Christmas music for that time of year.Whilst combining listening, reading and writing is a great idea, I can't help feeling that they've tried to get too much into one small device - and the cloudy screen doesn't work for either reading or writing.

Small price for learning and fun
These talking cards are such a useful educational product. Perfect for any learner to enjoy and use, no matter what stage of writing, reading it can be used for a lot of ages and stages. The pictures and designs are very cute in animation and colours. Small price for hours of learning and fun.

Like writing with a thin Yellow highlight pen
For the price (under ten pounds at time of review) this is a well intended device combining listening, reading and writing. However it falls short in all these areas. This small tablet takes 3 x AAA batteries, my first concern is that the battery compartment cover is missing the little screw that all other toys intended for small infants has these days. Looks like it was missing from the unit used in the advertising too, despite the description describing it. I was able to find a donor screw to make this safe.I like that there is a storage slot on the side to place the pen when not in use. There isn't a way to tether it further, and in less than two weeks the little yellow plastic pen has gone missing! Fortunately other plastic nibs work with it.The first thing you'll need to do after powering it on is press the power button again to switch to louder volume. There appears to be only two volume settings, low and lower, with the default being lower. I can see this being a positive and a negative depending on circumstance when using the device. The main purpose of the device is to insert a coloured card and trace it. When the card is inserted though it looks kind of fuzzy, like your looking at it through a mist. The sides of the device around the screen also make it difficult to write towards the sides. So for example as a right haded person I found that while tracing the letter O the angle of the pen needed to be more vertical than I am used to as otherwise the side prevented the pen from reaching the side. Furthermore the screen is yellow, and is not particularly easy to read. The 40 double side cards cover a variety of subjects including letters, numbers (0-9), body parts, family members, animals and more. When you insert a card the device says the word / letter.Without a card in the device the top button on the front causes it to step through ten songs. The sound from these is rather good. Though personally I'd rather not have Jingle Bells or Baby Shark in the play list.

Excellent, early speech and language development toy.
This sensory toy set is fantastic for young learners! The talking flash cards and writing tablet are engaging and interactive, keeping my 3-year-old niece engaged in early educational learning play. The variety of 80 words, numbers, and 10 songs is perfect for building vocabulary and early writing skills. The talking feature helps with speech development, making it great for Montessori and speech therapy activities. It’s sturdy and easy for little hands to use, with colourful visuals that capture attention. My niece loves pressing the buttons and learning new words in a fun way. It’s an excellent educational gift for toddlers, especially those with additional educational needs, such as speech therapy!

sensory tablet talking flash card toy
This interactive flashcard machine is a fantastic upgrade from traditional flashcards. It allows kids to trace letters, words, animals, and shapes on the screen, making learning more engaging. Even without cards, it plays a variety of popular songs and nursery rhymes. The package includes the machine, cards, and a pen. However, we noticed that a screw was missing to secure the battery compartment. You'll need three non-rechargeable batteries to get it started. The screen has a slight colour tint, and the pen nib might be a bit too thick for intricate drawings like animals.Overall, this is a great educational toy for children aged 3 and up. It's a fun and interactive way to learn.
