Simulaids - CasPeR The CPR Dog by Simulaids

We purchased this aid to train our local K-9 police handlers and it was perfect for training on how to administer mouth to snout breaths, give chest compressions, and especially to learn how to feel a pulse. You can actually give the aid a breath and experience the reality of a chest excursion, and how much force it takes to inflate lungs. The chest is very realistic when you perform chest compressions, and allows you to train someone on the correct hand positioning for cardiac resuscitation. The pulse feature is very cool. You can palpate on the medial aspect of the back leg and get an idea of what a strong or weak pulse feels like, as well as the correct place to feel for a pulse. We had actually ordered a different "dummy" for the same purpose, and it was just a big stuffed animal for a LOT more money. The price of this training aid was very reasonable, and it serves as a better training aid than the more expensive version that didn't have a pulse feature, or the ability to give breaths. We will be using it for client training and staff training as well.

The CasPeR simulaid has been fantastic to use in our first aid classes for owners. Even tho it is only a basic model, it still provides everything you need for training. I will also be using it when training staff in our emergency clinic as well as using in training my nursing students in class.Easy to carry around and also doesnt take much space up when storing.Great value for money

First, the dog is like a piece of cement. true life is a much softer body, just as with human beings. presently i use a large (huge) dog that i bought from toys r us and did some open heart on it by adding a football into the chest cavity to represent (through touch) the dog's heart. We liked it very much though you can't use it for other minor first aid and vet tecniques like inmovilization and transportation.The system for lungs needs further development, the pulse is great.It's the coolest device for dog CPR at the market today.

Nose is ripped a little but otherwise is good condition
