I've been cooking and BBQING for almost half a century! I really stepped up my game over 40 years ago and did so by doing everything by temperature!Needless to say I've been through an endless number of thermometers!Well when I ran across these little magic wands I immediately had to have them!When they arrivd I just couldn't wait to get several different meats to try them on.Just as I dreamed of the work incredibly well!!!!!You can never perfect a Yardbird or any of their brother, sistes, cousins or other distant relives. Product does not work as advertised. Third time using it yesterday. Same problems each time. Connectivity is inconsistent. App keeps losing contact with thermometer. This is within a twenty foot range. Readability with the app is terrible. Inconsistent temperature readings compared to hand held digital thermometer. The app looks cheesy and cheap. Cause it is. I tried to return the product after the first use saying it must be defective. Amazon wouldn’t take it back cause I used Affirm for payment. I hope Amazon, Affirm and the manufacturer read this review. Now I’m stuck with this horrible product. We all work hard for our wages. Nothing worse spending those wages on something that doesn’t work. Especially so for a product you use to cook expensive cuts of meat!

First time I used it I had smoked a 5lb prime rib I got a notification that it was ready within an hour. I checked and it was still bloody and no where near being cooked. The second attempt was a 3lb tri tip after 30 minutes it said it was ready. Same issue bloody and not near being done. First time I justthought I didn’t use it right but second attempt it still not working. I had to returned it because it was not cheap.Update 3/8Seller sent me a new one and it works great. I appreciate them doing that.

I responded to the email through amazon.will delete most of my post before if I get it to work. and give 6 stars.alsoI am chatting with amazon about it and they're not helpful. . . ACTUALLY they are saying they'll make me a one time acceptation for a refund wo returning the proc. but that's silly if the company offered it. I guess... what am I complain about. :PThe product might still work! I'm letting it charge more with a different usb plug thing on a different electrical outlet.I appreciate their offer. and will give 5 stars if I can get it to work.ORIGINAL post;I just got this today and before ordering it, I read all of the reviews. I base a lot of what I buy on Amazon from the reviews. I figure if some thing isn’t good w this product, the company will make it right for me.Immediately opened the box and read the manual as I charged it up. and Unlike the manual says, the led light doesn’t turn green, it turns blue, but I like blue better, so that’s OK. At first, the light flashes between red and blue, but it turns blue solid pretty fast. I still let it charge more because it said 10 to 15 minutes and I don’t even think that sounds like a very long time. So I charged it longer just in case.I got the app with the QR code on the manual. That was easy. Then I press the plus button on the app and with the probe next to it easily found it and I hit connect. Yay. Then I went to set up a cook but really I just wanted to test so I added a custom item and I said human as the kind of meat because I was going to test it on myself and I did. I set it to 99° for human.Since then, however, it hasn’t worked at all & I don’t even know how to get to that screen to start it up.If I press the plus on the app opens to connect screen, but nothing is on the list. If I open my Bluetooth settings in my iPhone, it says it’s connected to the probe. The front icons on the app show it as full battery connected to Bluetooth at least that’s what I’m assuming those icons are saying. But when I press anything else to try to get a cooking, going, the icons change to a crossed out Bluetooth symbol and a little box with a cord detached from it as if I’m supposed to plug it in. So I’m confused and it’s not working now and I haven’t gotten a chance to try it with food. And it’s dinner time now and I don’t know what to do.I suck the probe back in the box and it’s charging again and the light is solid blue. And I’ve close an open the app a few times which maybe seems out slightly but still I can’t find the screen with the cook settings for it to work with its main function.Hopefully I’ll figure it out.The other thing that seems a little strange or has me, wondering if it’ll be OK… Is that the instructions on the sticker on the side of the box say to make sure the probe is inserted into the item far enough so that it goes past the notch on the probe. But what if I don’t have a piece of whatever I’m cooking that’s that deep? It says to avoid damage you have to insert it into the item pass the notch. I’ll give it my best shot.I just want to get to the screen again where I have options of all these different animals heads to press on. And if I can’t get there soon, I’m gonna have to return this. Unless the company wants to step in and give me some instructions or assistance in any form.So I can’t really talk about how well it works. It almost worked. I bet it works. I just can’t see how well it’s working because the app isn’t showing me anything.

There are many things I love about this meat thermometer. First, the box it comes in is very sturdy and can be stored in if needed. Second, the wooden case that holds the thermometer is very chic. Such a great gift for any chef or grill-master! Third, the thermometer itself is made out of steel and very durable. There is a heat resistant rubber that you’re able to touch. Fourth, the app is very easy to use, stays connected, and gives recommended temps for each type of meat. You’re able to set your desired temp so the app notifies you when your food is done.

I bought these probs from my son who is the grill master in our house. When we received them they seemed to work great. However, after only a month they no longer would charge, and when they did the charge only lasted 30 minutes causing the probes to disconnect from Bluetooth and unable to read temperatures. I was disappointed I thought we had finally found the perfect thermometer but nope. Of course, being that they no longer charge they are useless and so now they are simply dust collectors. I would look into a different brand as this one doesn't work well.

We’re great for the first week after charging them then only one probe would work. Can’t get the other probe to work or charge. Otherwise I would’ve given it A better review
