Really nice dinosaur puzzle that is great help to improve fine motor skills. This set makes good gift for any occasion and doesn't break the bank.

The dinosaur screw toy is essentially a jigsaw style toy where the child has to bolt the coloured pieces onto the dinosaur shape. They do this by using a spanner to turn 4 of the bolts or using the screw driver end of the spanner to screw the remaining three bolts. There are only seven bolts which is a shame because if one got lost then the puzzle would not be able to get completed. The pieces have only one place on the dinosaur that they can fit and the only changeable thing is the colour of the dinosaur parts. From an educational perspective there are some cards which the child can follow which offers some challenge. The child can practise motor control is needed when turning the bolts and using the spanner/ screwdriver. The toy is nicely made and painted and the bolts are a good size for little fingers but I question if there is enough to hold a youngster's interest.

It comes with three different colour choices for each section of the dinosaur. It comes with bolts either to screw on with a screw driver or a spanner. Which this has now taught my daughter how screwdrivers and spanners work.At the time of reviewing this product was priced at £13.77. This is a good price for this toy.I would recommend this item.

This wooden dinosaur puzzle is fine.There are plenty of pieces to it and the included cards provide various patterns for different dinosaur "outfits" and the puzzle pieces fit together on a sturdy wooden dinosaur frame. They can then be secured with screws or bolts using the provided double-ended wooden tool.Personally I wasn't a fan of the tool as not only do you have to use it as a spanner but you have to use the handle as a screwdriver which is just too awkward for young hands to master properly and leads to frustration, especially as it's just not comfortable to hold when using it as a screwdriver. I actually don't understand why there isn't a dedicated screwdriver included.Still, this does encouraging imaginative play and it is a good way to foster cooperation as children can take it in turns to add a piece to the dinosaur base. It's also a great way to develop fine motor skills and problem-solving abilities.I do think it's a bit challenging for tots but for kids around 5 or 6 it should be fine.

I like this product. At its heart is a nicely thick (correctly described online as ‘chunky’) wooden base board with seven pre-drilled holes. There are also seven wooden screws, each with a differently coloured head. Four of these screws have hexagonal heads (to be screwed or unscrewed with a spanner) and three have circular slotted heads (to be screwed or unscrewed with a screwdriver). And, yes, a combined wooden spanner-cum-screwdriver is provided too. The challenge is to fit on the base board the various parts of a dinosaur body – jigsaw-like – so as to finish up with a completed dinosaur. Several double-sided cards illustrate the various colour combinations that might be constructed using these parts and tools. So it’s a product that combines guided play with the need for creativity and dexterity. And it’s an activity that can be done together with a parent or carer, or by a child alone (once they have understood what needs to be done). I look forward to using this toy with my two young granddaughters when they come to stay later this week.

This is a lovely toy - but it is a cross between a dexterity toy and a jigsaw as the pieces need fitting together on the wooden dino frame (one job) and then they can be affixed via the screws provided (2nd job) - some of the screws are flat head and some are bolts so you use the double ended wooden tool provided to do either job. There are some patterns included on little cards that show how the pieces can fit together and presumably you'd pick one and make that 'outfit' and attach it to the dino shape. The wooden screws/bolts can be hand fastened too. This is an all-wooden toy apart from the outfit cards and its nicely made - feels sturdy and the painted parts (outfit/jigsaw parts and the bolts) are well done. This will need adult supervision for a three year old as its actually quite tricky - but will definitely grow with a younger child and provide opportunities for dexterity practice. Excellent price for what you get as its lovely quality and the box is nice enough for direct sending from Amazon as a gift.
