Beware not designed for Mac Book Pro
The description specifies compatibility with Mac Book Pro, however the cable is the 60W version, not the 85W version. Thus, it with either charge or power the Mac Book Pro, but may be insufficient wattage to do both. Unfortunately there is no good way to tell the difference until you go through the trouble of repairing your existing magsafe 2 charger. Very disappointed.

Quality cable but MagSafe led is unreliable
9/1/2019 UpdateOne of the two I purchased failed within 3 months. While charging, the magsafe end got extremely hot, enough to hurt when I touched it. The other one is still works but now I watch its temp to make sure it doesn't damage the laptop or cause a fire. Will probably purchase new Apple charger instead of always wondering.Original ReviewBought and installed 2. Fit perfectly. Cable has quality feel, nicer than original Apple cable. Wire ends were pre tinned which made soldering simple. Only negative is the MagSafe led is unreliable. Plugging in the cable always charges my MacBook but sometimes the led lights, sometimes it doesn’t. Unplugging and replugging usually fixes it.

It fits, but...
I buy these "regularly", because they are cheaper (and less wasteful) than buying an all-new power supply, but the wire is smaller gauge and the pins are less hefty than the OEM cable, so these don't seem to last as long. I have a 2013 15" MPB, which draws a bit more power than other models. One thing I would recommend: replace (or clean very very well) your DC-in board on the computer. The part is cheap, but it is a medium-hard task to install (you have to be comfortable with taking the very delicate guts of your laptop apart). If you don't clean/replace that, then this cable will not last very long.

Unreliable. Clearly not OEM equivalent, might get job done at least temporarily.
This replacement cable fits the charger brick well and is easily soldered in place. The problem, though is the magsafe itself. It does not appear to be an exact replacement and looks a bit scrawny with thinner pins. I have 4 MBP laptops in the house. The replacement cable charges 2 laptops most of the time, and does not charge the other 2 at all ever. Fiddling around and flipping the connector sometimes helps, but not reliably. Consider this replacement cable as a possible solution, but not one upon which you cannot completely rely. It is better than a totally dead charger, just be aware.

Worked great
Replaced the cable on my mac adapter. Worked great. Was a little concerned about opening the case based on some of the reviews that I read. There was one person that completely hacked their case apart using a rotary tool. The case appears to be ultrasonically sealed. I was able to get it open using a very large screwdriver, the blade was almost a 1/2" wide and the thickness was just under the thickness of the groove in the power supply case. One you get it started it's easy to work your way around the case. I have a few very minor nicks but unless you were looking for them you probably would not notice. Once open I desoldered the old cable and soldered in the new one. You need a pretty small tip to avoid damaging the PCB and I would strongly recommend solder wick and/or a solder sucker as it's a double sided PCB. Take your time. Good luck.

Junk
(in the above picture the thin wires are the aftermarket cable vs the factory wiring). The internal cables are much thinner than the factory wire. For an 85w power supply thats a bad thing. After soldering these connections in I checked the output twice - worked great. Stuff them back into the case - checked one more time great. After I glued the case shut again - nothing. I can only assume the added pressure from sealing it up broke the thinner less flexible wires. My recommendation is to not cheap out. If you were hooking this to anything other than a $3k Macbook pro - whatever, but don't risk your laptop on this cable.

Better than buying a whole new charger
Very pleased that I purchase this to put on my existing OEM Apple charger. I didn't open up the charger, I just stripped the wires and attached it to this cable. Had this about three weeks seems to be just fine. My original cord was fraying right at the T connector, not next to the charger itself so it made it easy to swap out the cable. I had considered buying a whole new charger, but the problems people are having with the chargers from overheating to damage their computers did just not working after a few months made me want to just replace the cord and keep my charger.

Easy peasy!
Had a bunch of old laptop (Lenovo) power adapters laying around. Just snipped the two wires, removed the old connector, soldered the ends of this cable, covered with some electrical tape and voila! now I have 4 chargers for a fraction of the price of just one official apple charger. Just make sure of the voltage and amp rating matches (amp can exceed) of your old adapter to what the Mac one needs. The make of this cable is practically the same at the original. Good deal!
