brilliant microphone!
i bought this mic last year but i forgot to write a review, on the upside - i have had plenty of time with it and here is what i think of it: you can tell straight away that this is a premium dynamic microphone, its heavy and feels very premium. it sounds amazing paired with a Rodecaster Duo - my voice sounds crisp and very clear, however - this mic requires ALLOT of gain to get working properly (around 56DB) on my previous interface i was nearly maxing the gain out which increased the noise floor quite a bit, so i did have to upgrade but it was worth it! overall 10/10 product i can reccomend!

Shure SM7B Alternative
Tested this against a Shure SM7B and I could not tell the difference. Had them powered side by side on a Focusrite 2i2 - Used it on Discord and other platforms and genuinely couldn't get a noticeable quality difference to justify the 4x price. Without a cloudlifter both microphones suffer from being underpowered - but a little compression and gating can sort that out - I have no issues using this mic as a daily driver on a 2i2 3rd gen or higher. The noise floor is superb - only noise i get is introduced by the amps on the 2i2 gained right up - and its a beautiful solid metal design. Solid weight and works perfectly with the RODE Arms

Great mic, with one caveat.
Why did you choose this product over others?: I love rode, they make fantastic audio products. The only criticism I have with this mic is the lack of low end. While yes, this can be remedied in post, it requires a LOT of EQ. I have a very deep voice, yet it makes me sound lacking. I’d suggest as a live mic, perhaps route it through an EQ first, but for production with post, it’s great.

Really good mic and strong build
Audio sounds great and the aesthetic is impeccable, really heavy for a microphone but is made up for with its build quality no doubt making it heavier than plastic microphones
