Testify

In any given poem, Ms. John efficiently, yet vividly encapsulate a specific black individual's experience, and the sum of these poems conveys the idea of the overall black experience in America. I'm a white man, so it's safe to say the black experience is one I'll fully comprehend, but I do think Testify at least pointed my compass in the right direction.Anyone living in America would be well served to read this work.
