Does it work in Portrait orientation?

Yes but you wouldn’t be able to charge the device when it is in the wall mount! But I always take it out when charging as l don’t have a plug socket near by!!

Is this mounted via an adhesive or does it need drilling?

Just needs screws tbh, depends what it’s going into. Come with screws and raw plugs if you wish to drill. Doesn’t require adhesive. Simple to install and holds an iPad steady.

Can this be used without a charger

This is simply a wall mount, the iPad is not included or any electronics.

No, it is meant for the iPad only.
