Great little knife that beats other Swiss Army knives by a mile.
Compared to the red or plastic handled Victorinox SAKs:This feels like a much better finished product. The action is tighter, the blades are a bit thicker and the knife feels well put together. It feels a little heavier for the first couple of days but after that you'll forget it's there in your pocket. The quality makes the other SAKs feel inferior even though they are great products on their own. This little chap makes the great Victorinox Outrider I have feel cheap. The blade is a wee bit longer than most plastic/Cellidor scaled SAKs. However the alox scales are thinner and this two layer knife feels compact in spite of being longer.None of the alox models have tweezers or toothpicks so you'll miss those on this one too. Well one has to adjust no?The awl is great. Unlike other SAKs the awl on this one allows you to use a lot more force as it lies along the long axis of your grip. In addition it's thicker, has a spine and the point seems sharper. Really the awl on this one is reason enough to buy this and the alox is the icing on the cake. The alox scales look great. Very understated but elegant. Th black alox knives are even better. The grip on the alox scales is very good even in sweaty hands due to the embossed pattern. There is a small flat area to engrave your name or such stuff but I've never seen anybody do that. Anyway that patch is pretty small. The key ring/ lanyard ring digs into the palm if you tend to hold the knife tight all the time but paradoxically not when you use force when cutting so it's kind of ok.

victorinox pioneer
Brought a second one after the first got stolen.Firstly thanks to Amazon for great delivery period(only 2 days) and a 20% discount on MRP.Truly after years of Victorinox knives collection and usage, i did brought the pioneer model.Features:1) its has a plain sharp blade,2) bottle-opener with large flat-head screwdriver and wire stripper,3) can-opener with small screwdriver which even works on Philip head screws,4) a key chain ring and5) best it has a awl/poker for t odd jobs...i hv been using it for scrapping rust n dirt in odd places in my automobile use were most tools do not enter.Pros:1) The tool is perfect for every day carry in your any pocket, weight is almost unnoticeable in a short time.2) size is good as it fits anywhere in t pockets of pant or even some pen organizers in t bag n pouches.3) Built quality and finish product is very good.4) Aluminium handle(sleeve) instead of plastic/Fibre on other models.5) Very reliable design and uses.6) Inox steel is good metal for protection against rusting.( i have 2 Victorinox Swiss champ model which is over 20 years and i never had a rust on them in Mumbai weather).Cons:1) it does not have the toothpick or t tweezers that most Victorinox knives have.2) there are no locks for any tools on the knife( They lock on original spring action only).3) No pocket clip.Verdict: I am sure the knife will last decades of wear n tear( in correct use and periodic maintenance done).*** would highly recommend for people who just wanna buy one knife for daily/ occasional or once in a life collection/ use.***Car, Motorcycle, hiking, automobile or sailing use.***worth every paisa.

An Elegant no-nonsense EDC multi-tool!!!
I love knives!! Got a small collection of them and carry a CRKT Drifter pocket knife everyday(as a tool, not a weapon). This is my first Swiss Army Knife and I definitely love it!!!The dimension (with all tools closed) are:Length: ~93mmWidth: ~23mmThickness: ~11mmThe quality is absolutely brilliant. The tools that we get are:1. a plain edge blade (length: ~64mm or ~2.5inches)2. a can opener cum Philips head screw driver3. a bottle opener cum a flat head screw driver cum a wire stripper4. an awl/reamer (For punching holes in leather, wood etc.)There are no tweezers or tooth pick or corkscrew that we normally see on most SAK's. This is a no-nonsense tool with only those tools which u are going to need day in and day out. So it's pretty lightweight and handy compared to the other models. (Which is exactly what I wanted)The tools are of great quality and have already used everyone of them. This blade was hair shaving sharp out of the box and cuts like a dream. The screw drivers handle most of the screws we see around. The awl is a real useful tool as well...Another major feature that makes this an absolute winner are the Alox scales. That is Aluminium oxide. Looks far better than any plastic scales and also makes this tool tough as hell. The Victorinox Pioneer is essentially a civilian version of the Victorinox 93mm Soldier's Knife designed in 1961, featuring the same tools and construction. Imagine carrying a tool that has been used for such a long time!! Goes to show how good the design is.The downsides (If you want to call them that) might be:1. That it has no pocket clip. (I haven't seen an SAK model that does). So when you put it in your jeans pocket it tends to sink to the bottom and one has to search for it. I have solved this problem by adding a self-made lanyard onto the keyring.2. The blade does NOT lock in the open position. so one needs to be careful while using it as it might accidentally close on your fingers. (Again I wanted a non-locking blade since I already carry a knife with a lock blade on me)Who should go for this tool? Anyone who's looking for a handy light weight EDC tool and use for routine everyday tasks like cutting an apple or opening boxes or tightening some random screws around home or workplace would love this baby.Cheers!! :)

Good quality, elegant and robust Swiss army knife
Nothing to say much about this Swiss brand just excellent , the main blade is actually thicker than it's other 91mm & 84mm folding knifes ,robust alox scale handle and riveted with brass looks retro and mechanical
